Bronx Royals Stickball Team

This team. No, this family went on a mission and we are happy to report mission accomplished. We were just different. All weekend long. Tunnel vision on the final prize (or should I say ). Blocked out all the hate. All the doubt. And played for the name on the chest. Congrats to on making another chip. Always a battle.

We have been knocking on that door all year and we finally kicked that MF open. We are hungry for more RoyalFam!

What they gonna say now?!

Proud is an understatement. A lot of resilience was shown by this group this weekend. From what was the worst schedule possible (including the competition itself) to rallying together and going on a 5 game win streak to make it to the championship. Congrats to the team. They balled out. And we’re the only team we lost to all weekend.

We here. We coming. And it will all come together.

Guess we were missed out there!

Real talk. We didn’t know what to expect bringing back the Royals but we knew one thing, we wanted to be together and play our way. It was a rough season in our first year back. While we expected to win for sure, we still had some highlights:

_Played as one the entire year
_No matter what, we figured it out
_We were having fun again
_We had a goal of bringing back The Royals for pops and we did.
_We didn’t accept that “it was our first year back” and knew we had to return as a top team in the league, and we did.
_Did I mention we had fun? We sure did.

Gotta refine some things, learn from the lessons and get after the next two championships for the year and more.

As our first MDT back as the Royals, we wanted to not only pay tribute to those who have come before us but to give flowers to those who are here with us inspiring us every day.

The Vikings stickball team was a team built from friendship and brotherhood. Led by pops, Philip Chino Santana and Henry Byrd, in the teams short time they were able to make some noise!

From a young throwing runners out at home to Pops, to the fire uniforms, the legacy is there!

This weekend the Royals pay tribute to this team and brotherhood and are ready to make noise in our own right.

It’s time.

As I’m sure you all already know. The Royals made an announcement on the NYESL Stickball page and The Royals will be no more.

We would like to take this time to thank every single person who has worn the blue for the last decade and a half.

Darnell Byrd, Ruben Rodriguez, Eric Santana and Kevin Santana did all they can as leaders of the team. No regrets.

To all the bro’s, a sincere thank you. Please tag anyone I may have missed. Once a Royal, always a Royal.
