La Vuelta was welcomed for the first time by the city of Loja, a community of over 20,000 inhabitants where olive groves and asparagus dominate local agriculture, while marble production stands as the backbone of its economy.
A large group of 43 riders managed to break away, setting the tone for a day clearly shaped for the escapees. In the final kilometers, the sheer power of Wout Van Aert reduced the front group to just nine. With 4 kilometers remaining, he launched one last decisive acceleration.
The only rider able to resist was Valentin Paret Peintre; he tried in the final meters but eventually faded. The stage went to the man in green, who sealed the day with authority after a battle defined by bravery and the natural selection within the breakaway.
La Vuelta fue recibida por primera vez en Loja, una ciudad de más de 20,000 habitantes donde los olivares y los espárragos dominan la agricultura, mientras que la producción de mármol sostiene gran parte de la economía local.
La jornada se definió rápidamente: 43 corredores lograron separarse, anunciando que sería un día para los especialistas de la fuga. En los kilómetros finales, el poderío de Wout Van Aert redujo el grupo a solo 9 hombres. A falta de 4 kilómetros, lanzó un último y contundente ataque.
El único capaz de resistir fue Valentin Paret Peintre; intentó en los últimos metros, pero terminó sucumbiendo. La etapa quedó en manos del corredor vestido de verde, que remató con autoridad una jornada marcada por la valentía y la selección natural en la fuga.

For the second time, La Vuelta finished at an astronomical observatory — this time at the highest one in Europe. The Calar Alto Observatory carried the peloton up to 2,153 meters above sea level, marking the fourth arrival at this emblematic summit in the Sierra de los Filabres.
The day highlighted the ongoing battle between Santiago Buitrago and Wout Van Aert for the mountain points. The Colombian rider extended his lead, strengthening his position as the top climber of the race.
But the most striking moment came from the overall leader. Enric Mas launched a direct attack against his closest rivals — an unusual move for his traditional style — expanding his advantage in the general classification and showing a renewed, assertive ambition in the red jersey.
The stage victory came through a fantastic solo effort by Jakob Omrzel, who sealed a memorable triumph at one of the most demanding finishes of this edition.
La Vuelta terminó por segunda vez en un observatorio astronómico, y en esta ocasión en el más alto de Europa. El Observatorio de Calar Alto llevó al pelotón a los 2,153 metros sobre el nivel del mar, marcando la cuarta llegada en este emblemático punto de la Sierra de los Filabres.
La jornada estuvo marcada por la batalla entre Santiago Buitrago y Wout Van Aert por los puntos de la montaña. El colombiano logró aumentar su ventaja y consolidar aún más su liderazgo en la clasificación de los escaladores.
Pero lo que realmente sorprendió fue el movimiento del líder. Enric Mas lanzó un ataque directo contra sus rivales inmediatos, un gesto poco habitual en su estilo tradicional, ampliando su ventaja en la general y demostrando que está dispuesto a defender la roja con ambición.
La etapa, en un solitario fantástico, fue para Jakob Omrzel, quien firmó una victoria memorable en uno de los finales más exigentes de esta edición.

La Vuelta arrived in Lorca, a major Mediterranean city with close to 100,000 inhabitants. Agriculture and pork livestock dominate its economy, complemented by a strong commercial sector that has made the city increasingly attractive to Latin American immigration.
The stage was built for the sprinters, and Visma continued to showcase its dominance. This time, Wout Van Aert delivered a perfect lead out, setting up his teammate Matthew Brennan, who crossed the line first and claimed his third stage victory of the race.
La Vuelta llegó a Lorca, una gran ciudad mediterránea cercana a los 100,000 habitantes. Su economía se sostiene en la agricultura y el ganado porcino, complementada por un comercio activo que en los últimos años la ha convertido en un destino atractivo para la inmigración latinoamericana.
La jornada estaba diseñada para los velocistas, y el equipo Visma volvió a imponer su dominio. En esta ocasión, Wout Van Aert trabajó de manera impecable para su compañero Matthew Brennan, entregándole la victoria en la línea y sumando así su tercera etapa en esta edición.
Una llegada potente, limpia y perfectamente ejecutada por el bloque amarillo y negro.

La Vuelta arrived in Elche de la Sierra, a small town of around 3,500 inhabitants. Beyond agriculture, the region stands out for a remarkable fact: it produces 42% of all Spanish footwear, a defining element of its local economy.
Stage 10 was all about chasing a partial victory in an unprecedented finish. With a false flat in the final stretch and no team fully controlling the peloton, the race opened the door to unpredictability.
In that chaos, French rider Bastien Tronchon seized the moment. He could hardly believe it himself when he crossed the line first, claiming a stage win born from opportunity and instinct.
La Vuelta llegó a Elche de la Sierra, una localidad de apenas 3,500 habitantes donde, además de la agricultura, destaca una industria singular: aquí se produce el 42% del calzado español, un sello económico que distingue a esta población de la Sierra del Segura.
La décima etapa se definió por la búsqueda de una victoria parcial en un final inédito. Sin control claro en el pelotón y con un falso llano en la parte final, la carrera quedó abierta para los valientes.
En ese escenario, el francés Bastien Tronchon sorprendió a todos. Ni él mismo podía creerlo cuando cruzó la meta en primer lugar, firmando una de esas victorias que solo ocurren cuando el caos y la oportunidad se encuentran.

A new dawn in La Vuelta arrived with the red jersey now on the shoulders of Enric Mas. He guided the peloton toward the Alto de Aitana for the fifth time, a climb often compared in cycling circles to the Tour’s iconic Mont Ventoux — though the Alpine giant is steeper.
On this decisive day, Santiago Buitrago solidified himself as the new king of the mountains, confirming his dominance on the toughest ascents.
The stage went to the race leader. Enric Mas showed exceptional form, defending the red jersey with authority and proving he is ready to carry it proudly as the race continues its path toward Granada.
Con un nuevo amanecer en La Vuelta y ahora la roja sobre los hombros de Enric Mas, el pelotón se encaminó por quinta vez al Alto de Aitana, un puerto que en el ciclismo ha sido comparado con el mítico Mont Ventoux del Tour, aunque el alpino presenta una pendiente más agresiva.
En esta jornada, Santiago Buitrago se consolidó como el nuevo rey de la montaña, confirmando su regularidad en los ascensos más duros de la carrera.
La etapa quedó en manos del propio líder. Enric Mas demostró estar en un momento de forma excepcional, defendiendo la roja con autoridad y enviando un mensaje claro rumbo a Granada: está listo para llevarla con orgullo.

La Vuelta arrived in another small town of just over 6,000 inhabitants: Xeraco. Agriculture has long been the backbone of the local economy, while only 3 kilometers away lies a major Mediterranean tourist hub that shapes much of the region’s activity.
What seemed like the only thing capable of taking the overall victory away from Pogačar actually happened today. A violent crash — a full forward flip — left him with a suspected fractured clavicle and facial lacerations, forcing him to abandon the race. A shocking and decisive moment for the 2026 edition.
The stage itself was marked by multiple crashes, including a final one just 500 meters from the line during a straight, one kilometer sprint. Amid the chaos, Bryan Coquard emerged victorious.
La Vuelta llegó a otra pequeña población de más de 6,000 habitantes: Xeraco. Su economía ha girado históricamente alrededor de la agricultura, pero a solo 3 kilómetros se encuentra un centro turístico clave en la costa mediterránea, que complementa la vida de la localidad.
Lo único que podía quitarle la victoria final a Pogačar ocurrió hoy. Una caída de vuelta de campana, con posible fractura de clavícula y laceraciones faciales, lo obligó a abandonar la competencia. Un golpe inesperado para la carrera y para el líder absoluto de la general.
La etapa estuvo marcada por múltiples caídas, incluida una última a 500 metros de meta en un embalaje recto de un kilómetro. En medio del caos, Bryan Coquard salió victorioso y se llevó la etapa.

La Vuelta reached the ski station in the Iberian massif, sitting 2,000 meters above sea level. This time, Aramón Valdelinares welcomed the peloton for the third occasion in its history.
It was a day for the breakaway. Andreas Leknessund managed to go solo and take the stage win, completing a 1 2 for Uno X thanks to Tobias Johannessen finishing right behind him.
The key moment for the classifications came from Wout Van Aert, whose third place earned him the points needed to take ownership of the green jersey.
Meanwhile, Pogačar extended his lead in the general classification, tightening his grip as the race moves toward Granada.
La Vuelta llegó a la estación de esquí del macizo Ibérico, situada a 2,000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. En esta ocasión, Aramón Valdelinares recibió al pelotón por tercera vez en su historia.
Fue un día para la fuga. Andreas Leknessund logró irse en solitario y conquistar la etapa, completando un 1 2 para Uno X gracias al segundo lugar de Tobias Johannessen.
Lo más relevante para la clasificación fue el tercer puesto de Wout Van Aert, que sumó los puntos necesarios para convertirse en el nuevo dueño del maillot verde.
Pogačar volvió a aumentar su ventaja en la general, consolidando aún más su camino hacia Granada.
