CARDIO SESSIONS, DO WE REALLY NEED THEM?
To create a deficit you can either lower food intake but also you can add some extra activity. This activity can come in many forms and is assigned on a case by case basis. This is especially helpful for those people who lead a low activity lifestyle and spend a lot of their time sitting down.
Below are some simple styles of cardio you can use as a starting point.
• High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
Tabata style training or a CrossFit workout
• Moderate Intensity Steady State (MISS)
This can be for time or for calories. For example: 150 calories on a Rower or bike.
• Low Intensity Steady State (LISS)
This is generally for 30-45 minutes and should not be taxing on the body. Examples: walking, biking, elliptical.
Choosing which type of cardio we should do depends on a few variables but doing any of them it’s better than not doing any. Your deficit will be higher and you will see faster progress.
