Athlete Mental Health & Mindset - Author, Speaker & Coach

One acceptance speech stood out to me during the ESPYs.

Lauren Betts used one of the biggest stages in sports to remind athletes that mental health isn’t something to hide until you’re struggling. It’s something to care for throughout your career.

As someone who works with athletes, coaches, and teams, I believe conversations like this move us forward. They help normalize asking for support before stress turns into burnout, before confidence disappears, and before someone believes they have to handle everything alone.

Performance and mental wellness aren’t competing priorities. They support each other.

Thank you, Lauren, for using your voice.

What part of her message resonated with you most?

About to pop off? 🍿 Or crash out? 🫠 Might be time for a personal reset plan.

Most of us know what it feels like to carry something around longer than we should. You tell yourself you’re fine, keep moving through the day, stay busy, and then suddenly react to something in a way that feels bigger than the actual moment.

That reaction is usually a clue.

Whatever happens on the surface often has more underneath it. A small comment can strike a nerve when you’re already overloaded. One more request can feel impossible when your mind has been running nonstop. An emotion can come out sideways when you haven’t had the space to be honest about what’s really going on.

That’s the popcorn kernel effect.

Leave it in the heat long enough, and eventually it’s going to pop. 💥

Reset work gives you a way to pause, check in with yourself, sort through what you’re carrying, and create tools that help you respond with more clarity before everything boils over.
