“I’ve taken my Brompton as a carry-on.” We’ve all heard it but does it actually work? We put it to the test on our recent flight from FL to TX.

Here’s what we learned:

* Used the Brompton Transit Transport Bag.
* Removed the saddle for easier TSA X-ray clearance.
* TSA asked what it was. “A small folding bike.” No issues.
* Flight there: Carried it onboard, no problem.
* Flight back: The airline played carry-on police 😂 and made us gate-check it.

The upside on gate-check? No extra fees, minimal handling & the bike was waiting right outside the plane when we landed.

We were hesitant at first, but the whole experience was MUCH easier than expected. Definitely the play moving forward.

One of the last 54cm FDJ UNITED - SUEZ SL9s still around. 🥵

Our client came to us with a specific vision for this build & since this one is only offered as a frameset, we got to work.

A few details that set this one apart from an OEM build: gloss white logo Roval Components wheels, zero setback aero seatpost, Continental GP5000s, CeramicSpeed OSPW Alpha pulley and the Arundel Bike Company Mandible Sideloader cages.

Ky-Mani Marley, your new SL9 is complete.

This was a fun one. Started life as an outta box S-Works Dura-ace build. Ky-Mani loved the bike but wanted it to feel a little more unique. So off to our painter it went… and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Roel Crespo you killed it as always.

This one was built last week but the project wasn’t quite done yet.

The Satin Silver Dust came back in for one last touch… color matched ENVE wheel logos. Big TY to Slik Graphics for the hand. 👊🏻🙏🏻 Now it’s complete.

Some cool bits worth mentioning:
• SILCA Ti derailleur hanger
• CeramicSpeed Alpha BB + pulleys, with matching Shimano preload bolt
• Sitting pretty on Continental Bicycle Tires GP5000 32s

Since the launch, it’s been back-to-back on these. After spending a week or so on the bike, we can confidently say the SL9 rides differently. The word that comes to mind… snappy. Full thumbs up from us. Specialized Bicycle Components

Build #9 took a different approach. The goal was simple: weight. We got it down to 13.1 lbs using some seriously cool bits from alpitude.cc, SCHMOLKE CARBON, BJŌRN | bicycle saddles & components & THM bike.

Finished this Y1RS for Hugo Dominguez. 🔥 This one is an absolute banger and black has officially become our favorite colorway for this bike.

Built with some seriously cool bits from Carbon-Ti, Better Bolts, FRAMESANDGEAR® Computer Mounts, Direct Mounts & Composites, alpitude.cc, ENVE Composites & Cybrei. Final weight? 16 lbs.

Gotta admit, sitting in the box this SL9 Team Replica frameset was… a lot. That’s a whole lot of colors y’all.

Once built tho… we’ll gladly take that back. This thing came together very nice.

We paired it with SRAM Red E1, Roval Components and a few CeramicSpeed goodies. Everything else stayed black so the frame could do all the talking.
