Monday, September 14th

“The Clinton Central Junior High Cross Country teams competed at the Carroll Invitational on Monday evening. We had beautiful weather, a nice flat course, and some outstanding performances from our runners - including an amazing 16 personal best times! The girls came away with the team win, while the boys finished a close second.

This was the first meet of the season where all of our junior high runners were on the course together, and it was great to see their hard work in practice carry over into their races. Even better was seeing them encourage their teammates and cheer on runners from other schools. That kind of support and sportsmanship is just as important as the times on the clock. Our Junior High Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday at the Lafayette Central Catholic Invite.”

“A great day for Clinton Central Junior High Cross Country at the Clinton County Meet!

The Bulldogs took on the challenging Camp Sycamore Valley course and came away with a county championship for the girls, a runner-up finish for the boys, and a long list of personal bests!

JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS - CLINTON COUNTY CHAMPIONS

The girls won the meet with 27 points and raced incredibly well from top to bottom. Nearly the entire team ran either a season best, a course best, or both!

Cross Country County Meet

“Today the Clinton Central Varsity Cross Country team competed in the Clinton County Meet on the challenging Camp Sycamore Valley course. Both teams ran great races, with several Bulldogs achieving season or course personal bests!

Before the race, we had the opportunity to recognize our three seniors: Ayana Flowers, Bella Plahitko, and Alli Rustin, and celebrate all they have contributed to the program. We will greatly miss these ladies next year!

The girls then carried that energy onto the course, with all three runners posting season-best times!
Bella Plahitko – 8th place
Paitlyn Haley – 18th place
Alli Rustin – 20th place

The boys had a great day as well, finishing 2nd overall in the Clinton County Meet with 47 points!

“Another tough night. We identified Sheridan early on as a yardstick team for our boys in terms of tradition, energy, and physicality. We learned a lot about ourselves and where we are as a team, and the work left to do.

One bright spot that wont show up on any stat sheet is the leadership of senior QB Kaleb Robinson. Not only did he call several audibles that were wise beyond his experience, but he was able to execute several series of new offensive scheme productively, including the longest run and score of the night--a 72 yard scamper from Luke Shelley. Another workhorse performance from Kaleb Griffy on the night as well: 111 yards on the ground on 25 carries.”
