AAAA recognizes the impact of the June 2026 NCCAA Certification Exam invalidation on affected examinees, recent graduates, employers, and the broader CAA community.

To support affected examinees, AAAA is offering benefits for those who provide proof of June 2026 exam registration, including complimentary Student Membership through December 31, 2027, eligibility to register for the 2027 AAAA Annual Conference at the student member rate, eligibility to claim CME for the 2027 conference, and access to the First Year Fellow dues discount for 2028 membership.

AAAA has also prepared a temporary licensure resource to help affected examinees understand where temporary licensure pathways may be available while awaiting certification exam results.

Affected examinees should look for an email from NCCAA in their inboxes with additional information about how to claim these AAAA benefits and access the temporary licensure resource.

Student Anesthesiologist Assistants can showcase their scholarly work at AAAA 2027, with two ways to participate this year:
🎤 Live Poster Presentation for the Hopkins Award: Compete for the opportunity to present your work live before judges and attendees.
📌 NEW: Physical Poster Display: Showcase your work and be considered for new poster awards.

Original scientific research, medically challenging anesthesia cases, and analyses of current anesthesia topics are all welcome.

AAAA had a GLAM-orous weekend at the inaugural Great Lakes Anesthesiology Meeting (GLAM)!

Representing AAAA were Emily Mycyk, CAA, President; Jamie Haar, CAA; Sasi Duggirala, CAA, Southern Caucus Director; Daniel Mesaros, CAA, Immediate Past President; and Dustin Murphy, CAA, President of the Wisconsin Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants; and Leigh Maltby, Executive Director.

We were excited to connect with anesthesia colleagues, educate attendees about Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants, and share more about AAAA’s continued advocacy initiatives throughout the Great Lakes region.
