You don’t need perfect workouts.
You need consistent ones.

The best program in the world only works if you can stick to it.
That’s why at Core, we focus on realistic, sustainable progress, not extremes.
Some days you’ll feel great, others you’ll just get through it.
But showing up, even when it’s not perfect, is the work.

Progress comes from what you repeat, not what you do once.

Someone at Core recently said, “we can all learn a little something from dogs,” and honestly… I agree.

Dogs have it figured out. Their priorities are in the right place.

And since Penny has spent the last year and a half at Core quietly observing us, and occasionally judging us with that stoic stare, I figured we could all learn a few health and wellness lessons from a dog that’s got life figured out.

🐾 Walking isn’t exercise?
Walking improves cardiovascular health, supports recovery, reduces stress, and helps keep you moving consistently. Don’t underestimate the basics. Walks are good for you too.

🐾 One bad meal or one missed workout ruined your progress?
Progress isn’t built or destroyed in a day. It’s built through what you consistently do over time. Enjoy the occasional snack.

🐾 You don’t have time for sleep?
Sleep is one of the most important parts of recovery, energy, performance, and overall health. Penny strongly recommends more naps.

🐾 All carbs are bad?
Carbs are fuel. Your body and brain both rely on them, especially if you train hard and want energy to exercise, recover, and feel your best.

🐾 You have to “earn” food by exercising more?
Exercise is not punishment for eating. Movement should improve your life, not be a transaction.

🐾 You have to be exhausted, sweaty, and sore to have a good workout?
The goal of training isn’t to destroy yourself. It’s to get stronger, move better, and keep showing up consistently.

Let’s follow Penny’s lead by going for more walks, getting more sleep, using food to fuel our bodies, enjoying the occasional snack, and not stressing over every meal or missed workout.

The second inductee into Penny’s Lift Club: Kelli

She set a new all-time Core wall sit record: 8 minutes and 34 seconds.

But what made it even more impressive was how it happened.

She was doing it alongside her husband, Pete (the previous record holder). They went through it together, pushing each other through every minute.

But she kept going even after he dropped.

Kelli didn’t go in trying to break the record. She just planned to hold for a few minutes.

But she was doing so well, staying strong, and we could all see she had more.

So we kept encouraging her. Another 30 seconds. Get to the next minute. Then another.

Before long, the record was within reach.

And she went and got it.

A perfect example of how much more we’re capable of than we think and how the people around us can help bring that out.

Kelli and her record setting wall sit are another example of what Penny’s Lift Club is all about.

Congratulations, Kelli!

The first member of Penny’s Lift Club is Mike!

Mike joined Core about five years ago with very little gym experience.

Over time, he developed strong deadlift technique and a clear goal: to get stronger in that movement.

When he first deadlifted 225 lbs, he said he wanted to get to 400.

When he hit 400, he said he wanted 500.
At that point, I told him if he pulled 500, we’d need a new trap bar just to hold the weight.

Well… he did it.

And I had to buy a new, longer trap bar.
It’s one of my favorite purchases we’ve made, knowing exactly what kind of work and progress led to it.

This is exactly what Penny’s Lift Club is all about… consistency, commitment, and progress built over time.

Congratulations, Mike!

Introducing Penny’s Lift Club 🐾 💪

Penny’s Lift Club is a new ongoing program at Core built to recognize the work being put in every day.

Members can earn their way in through things like big lifts, reaching high-level strength benchmarks based on age and gender, and a high degree of consistency over months and years.

Throughout the year, we’ll be recognizing members with shoutouts, giveaways, and exclusive Penny’s Lift Club t-shirts.

There’s no one path to get there, just a commitment to putting in the work.

Specific qualifications will be posted in the gym.

Penny’s watching… so let’s see who earns their shirt! 🐾

Pancake Breakfast is back! 🥞

One of our favorite Core traditions is here. A chance to enjoy some time together outside of workouts.

We’ll have pancakes, great company, and of course… Eric’s freshly tapped maple syrup.

This event is free and open to all Core members, past and present. The more, the better.

We’d love to see as many of you there as possible to celebrate the community that makes Core what it is.

Bring A Friend Month is here!

One of the best parts of Core has always been the community.

It’s a place where people take the time to get to know one another.
A place where people are thoughtful and supportive.
A place where you can work hard, but also laugh, joke around, and enjoy coming in for a workout.

This month, we’re inviting our members to share that experience.

Bring a friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, anyone who might want to join you for a workout and see what Core is all about.

Sometimes all it takes to start something new is having the right person there with you.

We’re excited to meet some new faces this month!

March = Bring a Friend Month at Core

We’re all about building a strong community here, and one of the best ways to do that is by bringing in people you enjoy spending time with.

For the entire month of March, bring a friend, family member, neighbor, coworker, or anyone else you’d want to train with.

And yes… there’s an incentive.

Bring a friend in for a workout and you’ll get:
• An extra workout each week for a month
• Free Core merch

If someone you bring in signs up:
• You get a FREE month + merch

So start thinking about who you want to bring in and let’s keep building this community.

DM us or talk to a coach to get your friend scheduled.

March is going to look a little different at Core this year.

We’re launching our March Madness Challenge beginning on Monday, March 9th.

You’ll be placed on a team.
You’ll earn points for your team by showing up for workouts, moving more outside the gym, and yes… there will be some fun competitions.

This isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about:
• Being more consistent
• Having some fun
• Being part of something with the community

There will be more details to come but if you’re interested, message us or tell a coach next time you’re in.

Let’s make this a fun month of madness!
