Behold Valhalla. Created by the engineers at Viking, Valhalla cues bring high-tech performance and killer style to a single, powerful tool. Enough.
In the beginning, just before the time of men, the god Odin created a great mountain hall. And in this hall, as time unspooled and men fought and strived in the world below, the god grew bored – and took up pool. The physics of the game should've been simple for a god such as him. Yet balls sometimes caromed in unexpected ways, and once, he scratched. He blamed it on the mead, but secretly he doub

- YOUR CUE -
“If you don’t love it enough to sleep with it, then it ain’t the cue for you.” – Dennis Deickman
Your cue is an extension of stroking arm, and excellent performance depends on good equipment, in top shape.
Here’s a few tips:
Keep the shaft clean by wiping it down with a damp cloth or paper towel and rubbing it dry with a soft cotton cloth. Shape the tip to the curvature of a nickel or dime, and regularly rough it up so it will take chalk well and prevent miscues.
Keep the ferrule of your cue stick clean and white. A clean ferrule outlines the shape of the tip and helps with aiming and sighting.
Never slam the butt of your cue stick on the floor out of anger or frustration, and never break hard with your playing cue as it flattens the tip, and can bend the shaft or damage the joints.
Cues are made of wood and prone to warping, so avoid leaning it against walls for long periods of time. Keep it in a good case whenever it’s not in use.
Most importantly, do not expose it to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Especially, don’t leave it in the trunk or interior of your car when it’s baking or freezing outside!
Be nice to your cue and it will be nice to you.

Viking Cues Tuesday Tip of the Week with Mike Roque
Author of Build Your Game!
ROLL THE ROCK!
“It’s easier to judge the length of a cue ball’s roll on a follow shot…” Robert Byrne.
When given a choice to draw or follow for position, it is best, in most situations, to choose follow.
It is much easier to control the speed and distance with a rolling ball. With a good stroke, a follow shot is effortless, and because your intended shape is in front of you, it is easier to visualize and play position.
On the other hand, the draw shot requires a more accurate hit on the cue ball. It needs to be accurate on both the horizontal and the vertical planes as any deviation can dramatically change the path of the cue ball.
On long off–angle cut shots, a follow stroke is the natural choice as it is easy to predict the cue ball path.
Of course, there will be many shots where draw is the only alternative. Work on it to develop a good feel for judging the speed and make sure you achieve a high level of accuracy on where you contact the cue ball. You must have a good draw shot in your tool bag.
However, when all is said and done, follow is the more reliable of the two. If you have ball in hand with a choice between those two strokes, take the follow shot.
Draw when you need to. Follow when you can.
