Middletown Middies 2nd grade football

We have officially joined the GCYFL! Great news for our program. We will be playing against other teams who only use in-district kids like us. It’s one of the biggest youth football leagues in the state and very well organized. We thank them for allowing us to join the League! We are so excited for the season we are going to pick back up right where left off! 💜

We hope everyone’s year has started out great! We can’t wait for the football to start back up!! We will begin off season speed/agility and conditioning starting sometime in April! We will keep everyone updated on times and location soon. Can’t wait to start seeing everyone this spring! 💜💜💜

Congrats to our DE #77 Montaise “tezzy” McIntyre on earning defensive line MVP for the 2023 season!! It was def earned not given! This was Tezzy first year playing with us and we couldn’t have asked for a better kid/player! He is like a man amongst boys out there. He can’t be blocked and if he gets a hand on you, you are going down!! We feel bad for the kids who have to block him!! This kids future has no ceiling!! Excited to watch him grow as a player and a person!

Congrats to our Center #99 Chase Sipple on earning Offensive Line MVP for the 2023 season! It was very much deserved! Last season we went thru 6 centers and couldn’t get it figured out. He came in FIRST day and we tried him at center and we never had to question a center again. He was the captain of the line honestly I think had only like 1 bad snap the entire year!! Congrats big chase!! Only 🆙 from here!

Congrats to our RB #9 Cam’Melo Robinson on getting Most Improved Player for the 2023 season!! Melo is naturally one of the most athletic 7 year olds we’ve ever seen! At the start of the year he struggled with running the ball and making tackles. By the end of the season, he was winning $ for the hardest hits and running wild touchdowns in every game and honestly couldn’t be stopped! Super excited for next season we will have the top 2 RBS in the league!! Great work Melo

Congrats to our QB/RB #25 Jahmi Calhoun “JR” on getting Defensive MVP for the 2023 season!! It was very well earned! JR is a true leader! He’s our QB and on offense he is the “QB” of the defense. He’s always making sure players are in the right spot and calls all of our blitz’s/slides/ and when he is blitzing, we feel bad for the offense because he can’t be stopped!! He led almost every game in tackles! Great season JR, run it back next year!!

Congrats to our RB #12 Trey Maynard on getting Offensive MVP for the 2023 season! It was very much earned! His first year playing football and he probably had more touchdowns than any 2nd grader in Ohio! The sky is the limit kid!

End of the year banquet/skating party ✅! We are so blessed to be able to coach these kids and are very happy with our season. We Made it to the game before the Super Bowl and then made it to the national championship game down in Tennessee! We couldn’t ask for a better group of kids and we are so excited for the future of these lil guys, it’s very bright!!

Congratulations to our 2nd grade Middies as they finished runner up for the 2023 Rocky Top national Championship. This was our first year all together and we are VERY EXCITED for the future of this team. It’s very bright!! Big shoutout to our team mom Erica Kirby, and all the parents because without you guys this wouldn’t have been possible! Just know, the Middletown Middies are definitely known down in Tennessee!!

Team game night at Main Event was a success ✅ boys played so hard today it was only right we celebrated!
Big game tomorrow at 10:15am against the NKY Bandits, and the winner goes to the 7U national championship!! Good luck to our boys tomorrow!!
