You already know what to eat. The problem isn't willpower-it's what happens when you're running on empty.

One bad night doesn't just leave you tired. It hijacks your hormones, shuts down your impulse control, and adds ~385 calories of cravings you didn't plan for. Your body isn't broken; it's just desperate for fast energy.

If your nutrition feels like it's falling apart despite your best intentions, sleep might be the missing piece. Seven to nine hours isn't luxury-it's the foundation your food choices depend on.

As a proud coach, this one means a lot. ❤️

I’ve had the privilege of working with Angela W. for almost 10 years now, and what I love most about her story is that this was never about following a meal plan or hitting macros. It was about changing her relationship with food in a way that could actually last.

In her words:
“Learning to balance my meals and using them as fuel to perform and recover was a game changer.”

Today, she talks about eating for more energy, better recovery, more clarity and stronger workouts. She can enjoy food and a drink or two without guilt, then simply reset and get back to the habits that make her feel good.

And maybe my favorite part? Those habits didn’t stop with her. They’ve had a positive impact on her entire family!!

That’s what I want nutrition coaching to do. Give you the tools and knowledge to make confident decisions on your own, without perfection, guilt or starting over every Monday.

Almost 10 years later, I couldn’t be prouder of you, Angela. Thank YOU for trusting me with such an important part of your journey. ❤️

Even ~2 drinks can disrupt REM sleep.*

Higher alcohol intake after training has been shown to reduce muscle protein synthesis.*

You don’t have to quit drinking.
But the trade-off is real.

Can you drink alcohol and still make progress? Yes.

But if you’re training hard, trying to build or preserve muscle, improve body composition or recover better, it’s worth understanding the trade-off.

Here’s what the research tells us:

🍷 Sleep: A 2025 review of 27 studies found that even relatively low alcohol intake, around 2 standard drinks, can reduce REM sleep. The disruption increased as alcohol intake increased.

💪 Muscle: In one post-exercise study, a high dose of alcohol reduced muscle protein synthesis by 24% even when participants consumed protein. Important context: this was a very high alcohol dose, so it does NOT mean two drinks reduces muscle growth by 24%.

🏋️ Recovery: A systematic review of research following resistance exercise found alcohol was associated with lower muscle protein synthesis and testosterone and higher cortisol, although measures such as force, power, muscular endurance and soreness weren't consistently affected.

And then there’s the simplest piece: alcohol adds calories that may or may not fit your current nutrition goals.

The point isn’t “don’t drink.”
It’s: Know the trade-off.

If you’re frustrated with your progress, look at the whole picture. Training, protein, total intake, sleep, recovery AND alcohol all count.

That’s nutrition coaching. Not restriction. Better awareness and better decisions based on your goals.

That's how we do it here.
It's about noticing the incremental breakthroughs that others miss, and we celebrate them because we know they're the ones that compound.

What's your small win this week? Drop it in the comments. Let's see what consistency looks like when you're not alone.

This is exactly what I mean when I say *the goal is to build strategies that stick.* ❤️

A past client recently shared this update with me: She lost 45 pounds over 18 months, transitioned off her GLP-1, maintaining her weight loss and, most importantly, feeling amazing.

Yes, a GLP-1 was part of her journey, with her doctor’s guidance. But I LOVE what she said about it:

“GLPs are a tool. They are not the whole picture.”

Because behind that tool was still the work. 💪

👉Prioritizing protein.
👉Drinking her water.
👉Choosing whole foods.
👉Walking 2–3 miles.
👉Finding movement she loves with reformer Pilates.
👉Being consistent with the habits that support her health.

There should be no shame in using a tool that you and your healthcare provider decide is appropriate. And using one doesn’t discount the work you’re putting in.

My job as a nutrition coach is to help you build the habits that support you *during AND after.*

And hearing that the things we worked on together are still helping her today? That’s the win. ❤️

Tracking calories forever isn't the goal. 💪

Nutrition coaching is about building skills you can actually use long term:

🥗 Understanding portions
🏋️‍♀️ Knowing how to fuel differently for a heavy strength day vs. a conditioning workout or rest day
🍌 Learning what works for you pre-workout so you have energy to train
🥛 Prioritizing post-workout protein + carbs to support recovery
🍽️ Building balanced meals that support your goals
✈️ Knowing how to adjust for restaurants, vacations, busy weeks and real life

Tracking can be a very useful tool. But it doesn't have to be the only thing keeping you on track.

The goal always having perfect macro score (unless you're cutting for a weight-class sport😆 )

It's understanding what your body needs, why it needs it, and having the confidence to make those choices on your own.

This is what sustainable progress looks like. 👏

Courtney stopped thinking about dieting and started learning how to fuel the body and goals she wanted.

And the biggest lessons weren’t about eating less.

✨ Consistency beats restriction.
✨ One indulgence doesn’t undo your progress.
✨ The mental game matters.
✨ And sometimes… you actually need to eat MORE to support your goals.

"I stopped thinking about dieting and started thinking about how to eat for the body and goals I wanted. I learned that consistency will always beat intensity or restriction, and how to make progress within the realities of everyday life without mentally going off the rails over an unexpected circumstance or indulgence. The mental game was what I learned most. I learned not to spiral over every crumb and every decision. And maybe the biggest surprise: I learned I actually wasn’t eating enough 😂" ~Courtney

Nutrition coaching isn’t about being perfect for 12 weeks. It’s about learning strategies you can actually use when real life happens.

So proud of you, Courtney. ❤️

One of the most rewarding parts of nutrition coaching isn't just the numbers. It's watching someone completely change the way they think about food.

When my client started 12 weeks ago, she wanted to lose body fat, but even more importantly, she wanted to stop feeling like food controlled her life. Stress, late-night binge eating, restricting earlier in the day, and anxiety around food had become a cycle she desperately wanted to break.

Fast forward 12 weeks...

✨ 135 lbs ➡️ 122 lbs
✨ 20.5% ➡️ 14.8% body fat
✨ More energy, better skin, improved sleep
✨ Better fueling for her workouts
✨ Solid nutrition habits she'll take back to college
✨ Confidence in knowing how to navigate busy schedules, dining out, stress, and real life

The scale changed, but the biggest transformation was building a foundation she can rely on for years to come.

I'm so proud of the work you put in, Abi. College is going to throw plenty of challenges your way, but now you have the tools to handle them without sacrificing your health.

Go crush your next chapter. 💙

This one meant a lot. ❤️

I recently asked a past nutrition client what strategies have actually **stuck with her** long after coaching ended.

Her answer is exactly why I do this.

Fuel your body for what you’re asking it to do.
Give yourself grace when life happens.
Prioritize your health, even in the middle of the beautiful chaos of “momming.”

Nutrition coaching shouldn’t feel like a 12-week diet with an expiration date. The goal is to build strategies you can take with you for **years.**

And this? 🥹👇
“If you have a goal and are willing to do the work, Angela will 1000% help you get there.” ~

I’ll happily take that compliment. ❤️

Real strategies. Real support. Real results that stick.

Ready to work together? Send me a message. 💪

Plot twist: I probably won't even finish this. 😂🍷

Healthy habits aren't about perfection or completely avoiding the things you enjoy.

They're about what you do MOST of the time. That's the kind of balance that actually lasts.

Cheers to the weekend! 🥂
