The Keep Rhode Island Sun Safe 2026 initiative has officially kicking off this May, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be one of the camps selected to receive Sun Safety Treasure Chests. Sun safety treasure chests are filled with sunscreen (spray and lotion), bucket hats, and other sun-safe items for the kids, plus some sun safety cards and fun facts to remind kids of the importance of sun protection.
Sun Safe Initiative Mission- As the days get longer and the sun gets stronger, our work becomes more important than ever. This season, we're bringing sun safety education and resources directly to Rhode Island communities โ from schools and summer camps to underserved populations across the state.
Here's a quick look at what's ahead for Sun Safe:
โข Sun safety kits distributed to 900+ children
โข Sunscreen dispensers placed at key locations statewide
โข Free skin cancer screenings for underserved communities
