Congratulations to the newest graduating class of our Police K9 Academy! This morning we congratulated three of the areas finest handlers and canines.

The dogs and handlers went through 12 weeks of rigorous training at our K9 training facility. All of the dogs are dual-purpose canines which consists of general duty patrol and narcotic detection. The dogs came from Vohne-Liche Kennels in Indiana and are from the Czech Republic and Holland. The trainers consisted of Sgt. Jordan and Sgt. Schwarber as well as Officer Figley, Officer Arent and Officer Day.

Our K9 program has been taking a bite out of crime for 60 years! Thank you Chief Nelson and the command staff for allowing us to continue this great program!
