A recently-renovated and expanded clubhouse welcomes public golfers to this 18-hole championship-style layout. A new drainage has been installed at the course, located high atop Sunset Drive off Geyers Church Road in Middletown, and fairway and green side bunkers have been upgraded. The average to large-sized greens are meticulously manicured by the maintenance crew, giving even the higher handicapped golfer an easy read and true roll to the cup. Whether before or after play, enjoy a meal on the deck or in the dining room at Sunset Grill providing breakfast, lunch and dinner menus as well as a variety of draft beers. New locker room facilities are available in the lower level of the clubhouse that also houses a full-line pro shop and a social hall available for private rental. Highlighting the par-70 layout is its signature 10th hole. The 345-yard, par-4 is one of five dogleg-right holes on the course. A large vertical drop from the tee box to a narrow tree-lined fairway gives golfers a variety of clubs with which to begin their back nine. (view photos)

The front nine includes three par-3s and back-to-back par-5s on Nos. 6 and 7, both of which are slight dogleg-right holes. Only the starting hole provides a dogleg-left on the front nine while Nos. 12 and 17, both par-4s, offer the right-to-left flight on the back nine. The par-5 16th and the par-4 18th are the only dogleg-right holes on the back nine. Water comes into play on four holes throughout the course, most notably protecting the left side of holes No. 12 and 16. Most of the 36 greenside bunkers protect the front nine while there are also a few strategically-placed fairway bunkers. That’s a wrap on the 2026 Superintendent’s Revenge!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out this past weekend to take on one of Sunset’s most unique and entertaining events of the year!

When the superintendent’s crew gets creative, you know you’re in for a challenge! From Plinko, White Out, Raked, and Hosed to, of course, Blow Me... 😂, the crew had plenty of crazy obstacles ready to snag players and test their patience, skills, and maybe even their sense of humor!

A special shoutout to everyone who helped set up the course, put together all the obstacles, and pitch in with cleanup afterward. It takes a lot of work behind the scenes to pull off an event like this, and we appreciate everyone who made it happen! 👏

It was a great time, plenty of laughs, and hopefully a few stories to tell back at the clubhouse!

Thanks again to everyone who participated. We’re already looking forward to seeing what the crew has up their sleeves for next year! 😈🏌️‍♂️

League season is officially in the books (except Mondays). Which means weekday evenings TUES-FRI are wide open at Sunset. Looking for a reason to get out of the house after work? Come play a few holes, enjoy the cooler fall weather, and take advantage of some great evening golf without the league traffic. Grab a buddy, bring the clubs, and come enjoy Sunset!

HOLE-IN-ONE ALERT! Big thumbs up to Jason Rosenbloom (pictured left) on his very first ace yesterday, October 3rd, on #5! And he did it with a 4-iron! Nothing better than that feeling of watching it disappear into the cup. Way to go, Jason. What a shot! Congrats from Sunset GC.

Well, it looks like the forecast isn’t cooperating. More heavy rain is on the way this afternoon, so after a tough decision, we’ve decided to remain closed for the day.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and hope to see you back out on the course soon! ⛳️
