NEED TO STAY STANDING DURING FLOOR WORK?
Jazzercise classes are designed for floor work, but we know that getting down to the floor may not be the right choice for everyone.
You are always welcome to remain standing and listen to your body!
When the class moves to the floor, here are some simple movements you can choose to do on your own:
🧱 PUSH-UPS
➡️ Use the wall! Place your hands on the wall, step your feet back and perform your push-ups standing.
💪 PLANKS
➡️ Place your hands or forearms against the wall and step your feet back into an angled plank position. Keep your core engaged and your body in a straight line.
🔥 MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS
➡️ With your hands against the wall, alternate bringing your knees toward your chest.
🍑 BRIDGES
➡️ Stay standing and try squats, standing glute squeezes or alternating leg lifts.
🦵 FLOOR LEG WORK
➡️ Try standing leg lifts, side leg lifts or hamstring curls. Use the wall for balance if needed.
🔥 AB/CORE WORK
➡️ Stay standing and try controlled knee lifts, standing crunches, side bends or gentle torso rotations.
💛 MOST IMPORTANTLY — LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!
Our instructors will continue teaching and cueing the approved choreography as designed, including floor work. When choreography moves to the floor, instructors are not able to simultaneously teach separate standing choreography.
However, you are absolutely welcome to remain standing and choose movements that are comfortable and appropriate for you.
👉 If you remain standing while the rest of the class is on the floor, please move to the side or back of the room so everyone has plenty of space to move safely.
Remember—you don’t have to do the exact same movement to keep moving! 💪
✨ Move safely. Modify when you need to. Listen to your body. And keep showing up! ✨
