After nearly 40 years, the Tennis Classic has come to the end of its run.

Since 1989, this event has brought world-class emerging talent to Midland, created unforgettable experiences for fans and helped establish Greater Midland Tennis Center as a destination for professional tennis.

We are incredibly grateful to the players, sponsors, volunteers, employees, partners and fans who helped build this legacy.

While this chapter is coming to a close, our commitment to tennis and pickleball is stronger than ever. We’re looking ahead to new opportunities to grow racquet sports, develop players, expand programming and create an even better experience at the Tennis Center.

Thank you for being part of nearly 40 years of Tennis Classic history. We’re excited for what comes next.

It’s National Volunteer Week, which means we’re celebrating all the ways people in our community have given back and made extraordinary things possible!

The Dow Tennis Classic couldn't happen without our volunteers each year – more than 300 people putting in over 2,800 combined hours of their time. From ball runners to ushers to credentials volunteers, every contribution is priceless and deeply appreciated. The warmth and friendliness of our volunteers is one of the reasons the DTC is a favorite among players.

We’re so thankful for the ways our neighbors contribute their time, energy and talents to bring our community together for this special event!

If you’ve ever considered volunteering – we’d love to have you! To learn about DTC opportunities as soon as they become available, contact the Greater Midland Tennis Center welcome desk (989-631-6151) and ask for Cricket Krengel, who will add you to the email list.

Happy National Play Tennis Day 🎾

What better way to celebrate the sport than with a recap of last night’s championship match between Alina Charaeva and Hanyu Guo.

Charaeva earned her title by knocking off the No. 2 seed in a gritty three-set semifinal before rising to the occasion once again in the final. Guo’s path was just as tough. She battled past three seeded opponents to secure her spot in the championship match.

A week full of high-level tennis, resilience, and heart.
