At the end of the Super Beginner course, students receive their first bracelet. It marks the beginning of becoming part of the Virginia Tango community.

As time goes on, more bracelets are added through classes, milongas, and experiences shared together. They come back each week not only because they love tango, but because they feel connected to the space and the people in it.

What starts as trying something new slowly becomes something familiar. You recognize faces when you walk in, you stay after class talking, and before long, it feels natural to keep coming back.

What is a milonga?🤔

A milonga is a social tango dance party where people come together to listen to the music, dance, and connect. It is a passionate cultural experience that is recreated in every major city all over the world.

A milonga is different from a class or performance. It’s the party that is all about how you express your own tango dance.

If you have been curious about tango, here is as easy way to step in:

At our milonga, the evening begins with a free class for complete beginners at 5pm, followed by the social dance where the floor opens and the room comes alive.

Our next milogna is May 30th, 5pm is when the free beginner class starts, from 6-10 pm the social dance happens that includes a DJ, dancing, food and drinks for just $20!

Come, observe, and take it in, you don’t need to know how to dance to have fun at this party! 🙌

➡️ Thursday we celebrate our beginners. Four weeks ago, they walked in unsure and now look at them, confident! The last night of the Super Beginner Course starts at 7 p.m. at the studio, the champagne starts at 8 p.m, and all our members are invited to come celebrate with them!

And Saturday, we dance.💃

➡️ The Milonga is where everything comes alive! The music, the energy, and a room full of people all moving together. Doors open at 5pm for a FREE super beginner pre-milonga class, as well as a $15 intermediate class if you want a little warm-up before the dance.

Drop-in to the milonga for $20, or $35 if you want the pre-milonga class included. No partner needed. No experience required, just show up.
