BIG NEWS for Stingray Swim Team! 💙💚
I’m incredibly excited — and honestly just really grateful — to finally share that Stingray Swim Team will be moving our winter and spring practices to the DeSoto ARC Aquatic & Recreation Center!
For the past several years, we’ve been so thankful for Nelson University and the opportunity they’ve given us to use their facility. As Stingray has continued to grow, though, we’ve become increasingly limited on available pool space and practice time. There have been many seasons where we simply haven’t had room to add more swimmers, and I’ve known that in order to continue growing and providing more opportunities for kids in our area, we needed more space.
The DeSoto ARC gives us exactly that.
It is an incredible facility with a beautiful 8-lane indoor pool, new racing blocks with wedges, spectator seating, and significantly more lane space and practice availability. This will allow us to better serve our current swimmers while opening the door for more athletes to become part of Stingray.
Parents and siblings will also be able to watch practices from the bleachers. The ARC has a beautiful gym, indoor track, basketball courts, saunas and more, with membership options available for families who want to take advantage of the facility during practice.
And thankfully, it’s still a very manageable drive — approximately 15 minutes from the Stingray pool and convenient from Midlothian, Ovilla, Waxahachie and the surrounding areas.
We are so grateful for this opportunity and incredibly excited for what it means for our swimmers and the future of Stingray! 💙💚
