The American Legion State Tournament was played at my alma mater Longwood University last week (7/24-7/29).Friday night at the banquet i was recognized for my 20 years of coaching American Legion baseball. The guest speaker was Coach Bolding who was my coach at Longwood 79-83. Saturday night at open ceremonies i was sitting behind home plate the place i had sit 46 years ago to catch the ceremonial first pitch. I used my 47 year old catchers mitt the same one i used my freshman year. My West End Post 125 team 2026 American Legion State Runner-up.
