PRESS RELEASE: Joint Renovations on Millburn High School Athletic Fields Begins

The Township of Millburn and the Millburn Board of Education broke ground on a joint project on Tuesday, September 1 to improve the athletic fields at Millburn Township High School.

To kick off the start of the project, the Township Committee, Millburn Board of Education Members and Staff, Millburn Township Recreation Department Staff, Recreation Commission Board Members, and representatives from the project engineer, El Associates gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony.

We are happy to offer anther session of our boxing clinic this fall.

Date - Sunday's - September 20th to October 25th.
Time - 9:00a-10:00a will be for boys and girls ages 11-12.
10:00a-11:00a will be for boys and girls ages 13-14.
11:00a-12:00p will be for boys and girls ages 15-16.
Cost - $60 per participant.
Location - Youth Room in the Bauer Center at Taylor Park

LAST CALL! We are able to collect bathing suits and goggles past the August 15 deadline! Please donate to help this amazing cause and to help keep the championship belt in Millburn! Must receive donations before this weekend!

You may drop off your donations at the pool when open (limited hours this week, please see twp.millburn.nj.us/poolinfo), or you can drop off at Millburn Town Hall (22 East Willow Street).

🩳🩱🥽 The champs are back! Millburn Recreation is proud to participate again in the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association's Bathing Suit and Goggle Drive this summer!

Children in underserved communities that may have access to swimming and swim lessons cannot attend because they lack proper bathing attire. Millburn has collected the most donations FOUR YEARS IN A ROW!

Bring new (or gently used) bathing suits and goggles to the Millburn Town Pool during normal pool hours through August 15.

When you donate at the pool, you can take a picture with your donation and the Championship Belt! With permission, we will post pictures of donors with the belt each week on our social media pages!

Since the Championship Belt is passed along to the winner each year, every town and county in New Jersey wants to top us this year. Let's go for 5 in row!

Bathing suits and goggles collected will be distributed through NJRPA member agencies and social service agencies in need.

Residents who are not members may bring donations to Millburn Town Hall (22 East Willow Street) during normal business hours.

Thank you for considering a donation and thank you to the NJSSA, NJRPA, and DOLFIN SWIMWEAR for organizing this statewide bathing suit & goggle drive!

Playground construction is underway!

On Wednesday, August 19, Township officials broke ground at Taylor Park to begin renovations on an inclusive playground. Millburn Township received a grant in 2025 from NJ Green Acres to renovate the Taylor Park Playground.

Be advised that the construction for the Taylor Park Playground renovation will begin next week. The playground will be closed starting Monday, August 17 and is expected to reopen in early October pending weather.

In the meantime, the Gero Park Playground will remain open for residents looking for an alternative place to play!

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to bring an exciting new playground to Taylor Park!

The Millburn Recreation Department is excited to announce the upcoming Millburn Pickleball Classic, a new adult doubles tournament!

Grab a partner and get ready to compete in this exciting tournament.

Two Divisions (based on Pickleball rating):
• 2.5–3.5 Division (if either player has a rating 4.0+, your team must play in the other division)
• 4.0+ Division

Pool Play:
Begins on September 14 and goes through October 2. Each team will be drawn randomly to a pool and assigned opponents for each week. It will be the teams' responsibility to schedule a match sometime during the week by reserving a court time. Top 2 teams in each pool make the quarterfinals.

Tournament Play:
Quarterfinal games will begin on October 5th and go through October 12th. Semifinals and Championship will be on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE SEMIFINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH DATE AND TIME.

Registration: $40 per team
*Only one registration is needed per team of two.

Register your team by September 7th!
Spots are limited (16 teams per division), so don't wait to register!

Eligibility:
• Adults 18+ Only
• Must be an active Tennis/Pickleball Member
