Anne Arundel County is currently under a Code Red Air Quality Alert. Due to Canadian wildfire smoke, extreme heat, and high ozone levels, the air is considered unhealthy for everyone, not just those with asthma or other health conditions.

Please take precautions today:

• Consider postponing outdoor activities, including sports, playground trips, camps, and other events if possible.

• If you have to drive, set your vehicle's A/C to "Recirculate" instead of bringing in outside air.

• If you must be outdoors for an extended period, wear a properly fitted N95 or KN95 mask. Cloth masks and surgical masks do not effectively filter wildfire smoke.

• Keep pets' outdoor time to a minimum. Stick to quick bathroom breaks and save walks or playtime for when air quality improves.
