Summer Trails Update!!

Summer is in full swing, and OSI's Katahdin Region trail crew has recently been hard at work on the Millinocket Community Trails making improvements to the “Flowage” gravity trail, and adding new sections to the Long Acre trail.

We also wanted to take a moment to remind our trail users that only class 1 e-bikes (pedal assist only) are allowed on the Millinocket Community Trail System and all KAT systems across the region.

We’re seeing increasing damage by throttle-powered e-dirt bikes, including on new trail that was just completed.

We know these e-toys are fun, but the community trails are not designed for this use and the damage from the throttle leads to erosion and degradation of the trails. Not to mention safety issues with other walkers, runners, and cyclists.

If your bike or scooter has a throttle, please keep them off of the KAT trail systems. We appreciate our trail community's consideration and cooperation on this!
