When firefighters arrived to deal with a smoldering stump, one homeowner’s dog apparently decided there was no reason to stand on the sidelines.
Last week, Engine 93 with Spokane County Fire District 9 responded to a report of a smoldering stump. After firefighters put it out, the homeowner’s Golden Retriever discovered something far more exciting than the fire itself: the hose.
The playful pup happily jumped through the spray, snapping at the water as the firefighter aimed the hose. Before long, the dog was covered in muddy puddle water and looking like he had just had the time of his life.
Seeing the dog covered head to foot in dirt, Spokane County Fire District 9 wrote: “Luckily, the pup has its own dog wash at home!”
They added: “This is probably why we don’t have a station dog…but honestly, now we want one even more. 😂”
A fan of the fire district also jokeed about their unexpected four-legged visitor after seeing the happy dog, writing: “Golden Retriever charged with Arson. States he started the fire to play with his friends. All charges have been dropped at this time.”
One thing is for sure. This Golden Retriever had no intention of letting a little fire call go by without turning it into playtime. 🐶🚒
