88 Shades of Gray - 24 hours of lemons racing team

An absolutely gorgeous weekend and great performance from Amanda, Rob, Mark, Ryan, and Brian. The car ran strong all weekend. We finished in 18th position overall, 14th in class. We couldn't be happier with our 2025 season closing performance. Watch for posts over the break about our maintenance and other shenanigans. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up.

Good morning race fans! Another beautiful crisp sunny morning here in New Hampshire. Racing just started and Rob is at the wheel in 23rd place. We're only 10 laps out of 10th place, for some perspective. 96'ish cars this weekend. The car is running great and the team is feeling energetic and looking forward to a full day of laps.

We're at NHMS, Loudon, NH, this weekend for 14 hrs of fun. Mark drove us up the ranking during the first stint, to position 8! Our 7 minute pit stop dropped us to position 28, where Ryan is taking over for the next 1.75 hours.

Sorry for the delayed post. With only three team members participating in New Jersey there is not a lot of discretionary time and its beat feat home after the race ASAP. Rob has an early morning flight to Cincinnati for business. Gotta keep planes safe.

We continued to address issues with a leaky and ill handling car that caused delay. Rob didnt fully release the parking brake when leaving the pits and struggled for a while trying to diagnose the problem of the car’s horrible handling. Once he got that sorted he posted his personal best laps by a couple seconds. It helps when your last and a lot of cars drop out - you get to go freaky fast.

The back of the car is filthy because of some undisclosed leak and Ol Gray has quite a few bumps and dents not of our causing.

So in the end we finished 15th with no black flags except for being hit by someone else and we had a blast.

Much work to be done at the shop before the August Thompson race including fixing the idiot light for when the parking brake is on!

Rocky start to the morning. Started 15th. Brian advising that there was some strange noises and ill handling going on. We pulled her in to check wheel bearing and other things. Finding nothing obvious we went back out to soldier on. Mark in the car now. Solid 18th. Not a lot of opportunity to move up. We’ll see.

Rob started his stint at 3:25, with a full tank of fuel. He should be set until the end at 6pm. Mark, got us up to 8th. We fell to 14th during the pit stop, however, Rob has us up to 11, or 10, depending upon which timing app you're looking at. We're happy with either!

On Brian's last lap, corner 4, he took a huge shot in the right side of the car, sending him into the grass. "I don't know what happened. There was a big bang and then I was driving through the grass. I thought the right side of the car was destroyed." Turns out, the side of the car looks about the same as before! Mark hasn't complained about any problems. Keep turning laps!

After 2 1/2 hours were were in 6th ruined by a crappy pitstop. Mark n the car position 17

All dressed up and ready to go. Start time 10:00 am. 6 hour race. Brian then Mark finishing with Rob. Expecting to need a splash and go to make it to the end with the third driver.

Another glorious day at New Jersey Motorsport Park! Yestersay we had to refix an oil leak at the front of the engine. Seems you should use fresh rubber gaskets to block up the rocker shaft cut-outs in the head. We're testing the repair now before the 10am start. Driver order is Brian, Mark, Rob. Wishing our other teammate, Amanda, was here with us.
