Join the fleet for a terrific time and a grand adventure. For 2014 we anticipate more than 200 boats. We'll dash together to the dawn.

Plan now to participate in the 76th sailing of a storied yachting event, the Queen's Cup. Sponsored by South Shore Yacht Club, the annual overnight sprint across Lake Michigan departs for Muskegon on June 27, 2014. More than 1,400 other people will be out there on the open waters with you. Yes, the Queen's Cup is one of yachting's most renowned offshore races, drawing plenty of tricked-out rockets

with the latest carbon sails and go-fast gizmos. But for those who cruise with a barbeque on the stern and the wine rack well-stocked with primo Pinot, it's also an unforgettable way to start your annual cross-lake vacation. You go across in style, as part of a big, organized fleet, in the best of sailing company. If you've ever done the race before, you know that it's no empty boast when we promise a great party at both ends. And yet the Queen's Cup also prides itself on being a family event. Many boats will have multiple generations in the crew. The camaraderie, above all, keeps people coming back. Be part of this communal celebration of the original adventure sport: offshore sailboat racing. The Event is open to all boats, mono- and multihull, with valid LMPHRF handicap certificates. Open to all one-design classes, if enough entries are received. The Multimultihull fleet will race if at least 5 entries are received. The Short-handed fleet is for monohulls with a crew limit of two. The Cruising fleet is for monohulls that will not fly spinnakers
Scoring to be based on LMPHRF time-on-distance distance handicaps; any ties to be broken using on time-on-time. The Course Milwaukee to Muskegon Heading: approx. 87° Distance: approx. 69 NM
Thursday, June 26th Registration, 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Queen's Cup Party, 6 p.m. - ?? Wisconsin-side activities coincide with Summerfest, and once again we'll be running a shuttle bus. Friday, June 27th Registration, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Starts staggered from mid-afternoon through early evening. Saturday, June 28th The fleet arrives in Muskegon with post-race festivities hosted by Muskegon YC.
