π§οΈ Rain or shine, the learning continues.
Mother Nature had different plans for Day 1 of this weekend's ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing class. Instead of heading out on the water, we pivoted and tackled the classroom portions of the course, including knots, sailing theory, and the written exam.
The best part? Our students came prepared.
Everyone showed up having read their ASA 101 textbook ahead of class, asked great questions, and did an outstanding job on today's exam. That preparation makes a huge difference and sets them up for success on the water.
The forecast for tomorrow is sunshine and sailing, and we can't wait to put everything they learned today into practice.
Sometimes the best sailors are the ones who know how to adjust their course.
β΅ Congratulations to our students on a great first day. We'll see you on the water tomorrow!

Happy National All or Nothing Day!
We have one question...
What's something you said you'd "just try once"... and now can't get enough of?
We'll go first:
Sailing. β΅π

π¨ Your couch will still be there next week. This cabin might not be.
Raise your hand if you've ever said...
"Someday, I'd love to learn to sail."
Now raise your other hand if "someday" has quietly turned into...five years later. π
Consider this your official excuse eliminator.
β΅ Our August 17-21 Learn to Sail Vacation is almost full.
We have:
β
ONE private cabin remaining
β
ONE salon berth remaining
Spend five unforgettable days living aboard our beautiful 41-foot Jeanneau Sun Odyssey, Calypso, while learning to sail alongside Captain Don Doggett.
Earn your ASA 101, ASA 103, and ASA 104 certifications as you explore Wisconsin's beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, departing from Milwaukee and visiting charming harbor towns like Port Washington and Sheboygan. Every day brings new sailing conditions, a new destination, hands-on instruction, and another unforgettable sunset on the water.
No sailing experience? Perfect.
No boat? No problem.
Just don't let "maybe next year" become another year.
This is our final Learn to Sail Vacation of the 2026 season, and once these last two spots are gone, they're gone.

Did you know Sea Safaris offers online sailing courses in addition to our on-the-water training?
With the poor air quality keeping many sailors off the water this week, now is a great time to continue building your skills from the comfort of home.
One of our most popular online courses is ASA 105 Coastal Navigation Pro. You'll learn essential navigation skills like chart plotting, course planning, tides and currents, compass corrections, and more, all at your own pace.
Whether you're working toward your next ASA certification or simply want to become a more confident skipper, it's a great way to keep your sailing journey moving forward until it's time to get back on the water.

Could you identify these? π
No cheating... and no Googling! π
These four symbols are common navigation marks that every sailor should know. If you've taken an ASA course with us, you might recognize a few!
How many can you name? β΅π

Don't underestimate the small things.
A properly coiled line may seem like a minor detail, but it's one of the habits that helps create a safe, organized and confident sailor.
The same is true with any goal.
Small improvements, practiced consistently, lead to big results over time.
Here's to another week of learning something new. β΅
