[01/01/21] While 2020 wasn't exactly the year we expected, there were so many things to celebrate and so many goals accomplished. As we reflect on the past year and look forward to the next, we want to say thank you. Thank you for a memorable year of home workouts, (virtual) fistbumps, PRs, and of course, lots of fitness. Bring on 2021!

Some of you may have already had Coach Finn in class, but we thought to formally introduce the newest member of our 414 Coaching Team.
Finn is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer who started his CrossFit journey here at CrossFit 414 almost 3 years ago. Since then, he spent over a semester in Russia where, unbeknownst to him, he worked out with Russian reality tv celebrities, professional hockey players, musical artists, the social elite of Russia.
Now he’s back and ready to be a part of our community in a different way.

Consistency is one of the most important aspects of living a healthy lifestyle. Being consistent with our training, nutrition, and daily habits will help us live a happier and longer life.
Take some time to evaluate your daily habits and behaviors.
▫️What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
▫️How often are you drinking water throughout the day?
▫️How many fruits & vegetables are you eating at each meal?
▫️How much time do you spend on your phone?
▫️How much time do you spend sitting down?
▫️When are you going to sleep at night?
▫️When are you waking up?
▫️Did you break a sweat today?
With a little more time on our hands these days, it’s a great opportunity for us to look at our daily behaviors to recognize if they’re helping us move towards our long term goals.

We are taking COVID-19 seriously at the gym and have upped our cleaning and disinfecting this week above and beyond our normal standard.
There are additional disinfecting stations set up throughout the gym. Please make sure to wipe down all equipment before and after use and stop in for a hand wash prior to class.

Pulse check: How’s your warm-up?
Warming up is important in preventing injuries. A successful warm-up will increase body temperature and heart rate, it should provide some stretching, stimulate the entire body and provide practice for basic movements along with intense training.
It may sometimes seem like the mundane part of class, but it’s extremely important and should always be carried out before intense exercise!
