We dig into the story of Satan’s fall—not as a distant myth, but as a warning woven into the human heart. Lucifer didn’t fall because he wasn’t gifted… he fell because he wanted to be God. His pride, his self-worship, and his desire to exalt himself above his Creator became the doorway to destruction. And if we’re honest, we face the same temptation every day. Whenever we choose our own way over God’s way… whenever we rely on our strength instead of His… whenever we chase our own glory, control, power, or comfort, we repeat the same pattern that led to Satan’s fall. Pride always pushes us away from God—but humility opens the door to transformation. That’s why the life of Jesus is the ultimate contrast. Where Satan grasped for a throne, Jesus laid His down. Where pride demanded to rise, Jesus chose to descend. Where self-worship destroys, surrender restores. Following Jesus means learning His posture—humility, obedience, surrender, trust. It means letting God be God, even when our emotions or desires try to take the throne. It means reminding our hearts that freedom isn’t found in independence from God, but in dependence on Him. May this story remind us that pride blinds, but humility heals. Pride isolates, but surrender brings us back to the heart of God.
