🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League has concluded its 2025 season. And congratulations are in order for the new first and second place teams! Dale Z’s has taken first place with a commanding 13-1 record and showing the league their dominance. And The Salty Dog #2 made major improvements in their game this year to emerge as the winner of a fierce three way tie breaker for second place with Redbar and Golden Lion. Congratulations to all four of these teams for their quality seasons. 🥎 Here are the results from Sunday, August 24th at Sijan Field #3. In the 11am eye opener, Day Drink Inn downed Salty Dog #1, 10-5. Dale Z’s held on to finish off a relentless Salty Dog #2 squad by a score of 14-12. Redbar routed Rails Inn, 16-1 in the third contest of the day. And Golden Lion roared past the 13th Pour, 13-4 in the final game. 🥎 The official S.S.S.L. standings (with the tie breakers in place) are as follows. After 12 years, I’ve decided to move on from running this league on Sundays. I leave with a lot of great memories from playing, managing, administrating and most importantly, socializing with some great people that I met along the way. Jim Mallas has expressed his interest in running this league next year. And there’s no doubt in my mind that this league will be in good hands with Jim. 🥎The Southside Sunday Softball League has completed thirteen weeks of scheduled competition with one week remaining in the 2025 season. Here are the results from Sunday, August 17th at Sijan Field #3. Dale Z’s clinched first place with a 10-3 victory over Rails Inn in the 11am eye opener. Golden Lion used an eight man squad to vanquish the Day Drink Inn by a tally of 18-2 in the nooner. Redbar used eight innings to slip by the Salty Dog #1 team with a 3-2 win in the 1pm game. And Salty Dog #2 downed the 13th Pour 18-9 in the final contest of the day.🥎 Congratulations to Dale Z’s for securing first place in the thirteenth week of this season! As for the rest of the league, Salty Dog #2 currently has a hold on second place with a 10-3 record. However, they will face Dale Z’s in the noon game next Sunday. You can be sure that the members of Redbar and Golden Lion will be keeping an eye on that game. They are both right behind Salty Dog #2 with 9-4 records of their own. Both with separate games to play afterwards. The 13th Pour has still got a hold of fifth place at 5-8 and it looks like they’ll remain there at the season’s end. Day Drink Inn and Rails Inn currently tied for sixth place at 3-10 each. And the Salty Dog #1 team occupies eighth place with a 1-12 record. 🥎 August 24th should provide some exciting softball as The S.S.S.L. closes out its 2025 season at Sijan Field #3. 🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League completed it’s 12th week of scheduled competition. Here are the results from Sunday, August 3rd at Sijan Field #3. Redbar racked up a 12-6 victory over the 13th Pour in the 11am eye opener. The Salty Dog #2 squad moved all alone into second place by taming the Golden Lion team 15-3 in the nooner. Dale Z’s dominated a depleted Day Drink Inn squad, 20-12 in the 1pm game. And in the finale, Rails Inn ripped the Salty Dog #1 team 13-8. 🥎 We have 3 players in our league who are missing their gloves. If anyone has found a black right handed glove or a left handed glove please notify either Ross Mallas or the Sijan field attendant as soon as you can.🥎 With two weeks left in the 2025 season, here are the current S.S.S.L. standings. Dale Z’s is sitting in first place with an 11-1 record. Salty Dog #2 is alone in second place with a 9-3 tally. Golden Lion and Redbar are currently tied for third place at 8-4 each. The 13th Pour is holding on to fifth place at 5-7. Rails Inn and Day Drink Inn are tied for sixth place with 3-9 records. Golden Lion shot down the Salty Dog #1 squad, 8-2 in the 11am eye opener. Salty Dog 2 rolled past Rails Inn, 16-3 in the nooner. Redbar dropped the Day Drink Inn, 13-4 in the third contest of the day. And Dale Z’s thrashed the 13th Pour, 20-3 in the finale. 🥎 Here are the current S.S.S.L. standings with three weeks left on the schedule. 🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League completed its tenth week of competition on Sunday, July 20th from Sijan Field #3. And here are the results. Dale Z’s zipped past the Redbar with 14-6 showing in the 11am eye opener. The 13th Pour downed the Day Drink Inn 8-6 in the nooner. Golden Lion roared past Rails Inn, 17-3 in the third event of the day. And in a dog eat dog world, the Salty Dog #2 squad “muzzled” the Salty Dog #1 team in a 17-4 dogfight for “barking rights” back at the bar. 🥎 The S.S.S.L. will finish the final four weeks of its 2025 season at Sijan Field #3. Attendees may note that restroom facilities on the hill for Field #4 will still be available for use for the duration of the season. They are the nearest to Field #3. 🥎 League action continues on Sunday, July 27th. First pitch is at 11:00am. See you there! 🥎

🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League completed its ninth week of scheduled competition on July 13th. And here are the results from the hill at Sijan Field. Dale Z’s put on a hitting clinic as they tamed the Golden Lion squad with a 21-11 victory in the 11am eye opener. The Salty Dog #1 team forfeited to the 13th Pour at noon. The Salty Dog #2 team rocked Redbar 9-5 in the 1pm game. And in the final game of the day, Day Drink Inn rolled over Rails Inn with 13-4 wins. 🥎 After nine weeks, Dale Z’s presides in first place with an 8-1 record. There’s currently a three way tie for second place between The Salty Dog #2, Golden Lion, and Redbar. All with 6-3 records. The 13th Pour is sitting all alone in fifth place at 4-5. Day Drink Inn occupies sixth place at 3-6. Rails Inn is in seventh place at 2-7. And The Salty Dog #2 is in eighth place at 1-7. 🥎 The S.S.S.L. continues scheduled competition on Sunday, July 20th on the hill at Sijan Field. Dale Z’s and Redbar are featured in the first game. 🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League continued its scheduled play on Sunday, June 29th. Here are the results from the hill at Sijan Field. The Salty Dog #2 squad downed the Day Drink Inn 13-8 in the 11am eye opener. Golden Lion finished on top of a tight game with Redbar with an 11-9 outcome. The 13th Pour scored 4 runs in the bottom of the last inning and walked off with a 19-18 victory over a resilient Rails Inn team in third event of the day. And in the finale, Dale Z’s routed the Salty Dog #1 team by a score of 30-12. 🥎 After 8 weeks of competition, Dale Z’s stands alone in first place with a 7-1 record. Golden Lion and Redbar are tied for second place with 6-2 records. The up and coming Salty Dog #2 is holding steady in fourth place with a 5-3 tally. The 13th Pour is all alone in fifth place at 3-5. Tied for sixth place is Day Drink Inn and Rails Inn. Both sitting at 2-6. And the Salty Dog #1 squad is in eighth place with a 1-7 record. 🥎 There were no scheduled games on July 6th. But, the S.S.S.L. will swing into action on Sunday, July 13th with Dale Z’s squaring off with Golden Lion in the opening game. First pitch is at 11:00am on the hill at Sijan Field. See you there! 🥎

🥎 With temperatures in the 90’s and blustery winds turning fly balls into home runs, the Southside Sunday Softball League completed the first half of its 2025 season. He are the results from Sunday, June 22nd from the hill at Sijan Field. The Salty Dog #2 squad downed the 13th Pour 18-3 in the 11am eye opener. Redbar routed The Salty Dog #1 team with a 23-2 win in the nooner. The third game of the afternoon produced a football score as Dale Z’s defeated Rails Inn by a score of 27-14. And Golden Lion scored 10 runs in the first inning and kept that cushion of runs to defeat Day Drink Inn 19-9 in the final contest of the day. 🥎 After 7 weeks of play, Redbar and Dale Z’s remain tied for first place with 6-1 records. Golden Lion still has a hold on third place at 5-2. The Salty Dog #2 is alone in fourth place at 4-3. There’s still a three way tie for fifth place between Day Drink Inn, Rails Inn and the 13th Pour. And bringing up the rear of the pack is The Salty Dog #1 with a 1-6 record.🥎 The S.S.S.L. continues scheduled competition on Sunday, July 29th on the hill at Sijan Field. First pitch is at 11:00am with Day Drink Inn facing off against The Salty Dog #2. Followed by Golden Lion vs Redbar at noon. Don’t miss it! 🥎

🥎 The Southside Sunday Softball League has played out its sixth week of scheduled league play. Here are the June 15th results from the hill at Sijan Field. The 11am eye opener provided the most competitive contest as Day Drink Inn edged out The Salty Dog #1 squad by a 9-8 tally. Dale Z’s ran away with an easy 21-4 win over The Salty Dog #2 in the noon game. In the third event of the afternoon , Golden Lion managed to hold off the 13th Pour and walk away with a 7-4 decision. And Redbar routed Rails Inn 25-0 in the final game of the day. 🥎 After six weeks, Redbar and Dale Z’s remain in a tie for first place while sharing 5-1 records. Golden Lion is all alone in third place with a 4-2 record. They are followed by The Salty Dog #2 in the fourth spot with a 3-3 showing. There is currently a three way tie for fifth place between the 13th Pour, Rails Inn and Day Drink Inn. Each sporting 2-4 records. And The Salty Dog #1 is currently occupying the cellar at 1-5. 🥎 The S.S.S.L. will hit the seasonal half way mark next Sunday, June 22nd with scheduled competition from the hill at Sijan Field beginning at 11:00am.
