Thank you for everyone who was able to donate to our annual Toys for Tots toy drive and meeting. It was so great to see everyone and stuff Nancee and Jeff's vehicle with toys! A big thanks to those two for delivering the toys!

As a motorcycle club member, I’m glad Minnesota law will finally allow lane filtering—riding between lanes of slow or stopped traffic. This law will help keep riders safer and reduce congestion when it takes effect in July. But I know it will take time for others to get used to it.

So I need your help. Please read about the new law here so you aren’t surprised later. And tell others about it, too. Your personal comments are more powerful than any billboard. Thanks.

"Stay Uncomfortable: Continued Education in Motorcycling" - What does it take to become a better rider? Getting out of your comfort zone and exploring the threshold of your riding abilities to learn new skills and break bad habits. Let's talk about the great opportunities for riders of all skill levels to get continued education and training as a motorcyclist, including how off-road and on-road skills complement each other.

Our November membership meeting will be held on 11/14 at 7:00pm.
We’ll be at Rosetown American Legion for this meeting. We’ll have the usual camaraderie at 6:00 and meeting at 7:00pm.
This month we’ll hear from nominees for officers and board of directors for the club. Come learn what our candidate have in mind for your club!

For those of you who knew Muriel Farrington, Friend of the Marque, her daughter posted this to Muriel’s page this morning:

“This is Muriel's daughter Norma posting.

Mom passed away late yesterday afternoon. The last year saw her go from a tenacious long distance rider (and local, too - she loved the many beautiful rides in Vermont and New Hampshire) to home hospice care to death. Her decline seemed slow and fast at the same time, but it was very fast in the last two days. Mom was able to die at home with her loyal cats, Frisky and Frosty, who brought her much comfort and joy when she was confined at home. She also leaves many good friends and family members, including those in her BMW family. Thank you for all the joy you all have brought her over the years.

Mom's wish was to not have a formal funeral or memorial service, but a gathering at some point after her death. She will be cremated, and her remains will be placed in a beautiful box hand-crafted by her brother Walt. At a later date, her remains will be interred in the New Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor, Connecticut, where her parents, grandparents and other family members are buried.

I will post information on the gathering, once planned.”

Club member Chuck Bushnell is planning a ride to his cabin near Lake Nebagamoni in northern Wisconsin on Saturday October 12, returning home Sunday October 13. Curt Henry is also combining this with our October Midweek Campout, the final for our riding season.

Chuck has graciously invited us to join him to ride to his cabin. The ride will depart Chuck and Julie’s home in Maple Grove, MN on Saturday, 10/12 at 10:00am. It will be about a 200-mile ride. Please bring beverage of your choice and a camp chair.
The cabin has floor space and lots of room to camp.
Saturday night dinner is currently open for suggestions. Just to keep in mind this is deer country so riding in the evening is not recommended.
