Hi everyone!

With the ice fishing season in MN just around the corner, we figured it was time we properly introduce ourselves.

Hey there! We’re Sam & Sydney Overfors - a husband and wife duo with a big-time passion for all things outdoors.

Sam, is the mastermind behind SOSO Outdoors. He’s been ice fishing and spearing since he was a kid and still can’t help but do a little happy dance every time he pulls a fish through the ice. He’s your go-to guy for setting up the shelter, finding the best spot, and teaching you all the ins and outs of ice fishing.

Sydney, our co-founder and business whizz, handles all the behind-the-scenes stuff - managing schedules, spreading the word about us, and keeping our business on track. She loves winter and jumps at any chance to get out and embrace the Minnesota cold.

We kicked off SOSO Outdoors in 2022 when Sam realized there were tons of Minnesotans who have never experienced dark house spearing and/or ice fishing. We know Minnesota winters can be really tough if you don’t have something fun to do, so our hope in sharing our hobby with you is that you find a new hobby to make the most of these frosty months.

Keep your eyes peeled! We’ll be dropping our schedule for the 2023/24 season soon. Can’t wait to see you on the ice!

Hey everyone, welcome to SOSO outdoors! We’re a dark house spearing and ice fishing guide service in the Twin Cities and would love to take you out, whether it’s your first time on a frozen lake or 100th.

We offer half-day and full-day excursions with fully-guided or partially-guided options. For all options, everything is included: shelter, pre-cut holes, spears, decoys, rods, chairs, bait, and heat. Fully guided is recommended for people who have never been before. I'll be with you the whole time, walking you through what to do and doing all the setup and work for you, leaving you to focus on getting fish! Partially guided means I’ll bring you out and get you started, but then you’ll fish on your own.
