North High Booster Club Elections Next Week!

Booster Club elections will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Open positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Welcome to a new school year and a new booster club. In an effort to be completely transparent, we have recently been notified that the former booster club President has been officially charged with felony theft. As we move forward as booster club officers, we have established new routines and new checks and balances to ensure that all monies raised and received are used solely for the benefit of our amazing student-athletes at North Community High School. Thank you for your continued support as we have had to navigate through this transition

As the school widely shared on our behalf earlier this year, a former Booster Club officer admitted taking tens of thousands of dollars from the North High Booster Club account. The Booster Club discovered this theft when preparing its 2021 taxes, filed a police report with the Minneapolis Police department immediately, and worked closely with an auditor to identify both the amount taken and financial controls the Booster Club could put in place to ensure it never happens again. Since then, the Booster Club has a new President, these new financial practices have been implemented, and the group's financial transparency has become systematized. Also, the Minneapolis Foundation has assisted with fundraising to replace stolen funds and the ex-officer has returned approximately $10,000 with a statement that more is coming. The status of the MPD investigation is unknown to us at this time.

We are thankful for the far and wide support of so many of you during this hard time and will continue working to earn your trust and partnership. The Booster Club was started to center and celebrate North's amazing student-athletes, and it's on them that we remain laser-focused.
