‘Rollerdome’ diss launched skating tradition at Minneapolis stadiums The Vikings have lost momentum, but U.S. Bank Stadium’s four-wheeled skaters are on a roll.

Winter Warm-Up | U.S. Bank Stadium Inline Skating and Indoor Running return as U.S. Bank Stadium’s Winter Warm-Up, a series of thirteen recreational fitness nights at the stadium. These public events are open to all ages and will take place on the main and upper concourses from 5-9 pm.

The dates for Winter Warmup at US Bank Stadium will be announced on Tuesday! We need to hire 2-3 new skate guards this season, if you’re interested please DM me. I’m not sure of all the exact dates yet, but opening night is December 2. See you there!

If you like it in the summer, try it with ice skates in the winter. It is refrigerated for ice skating.

Maple Grove Offers Summertime Roller Skating at Central Park Skating Loop

The City of Maple Grove offers roller skating at the Central Park Skating Loop during the warmer weather months, including opportunities for you to rent skates for free.

“In the winter, it’s a super-popular destination for ice skating. It’s really busy,” said City of Maple Grove Recreation Supervisor Roee Hecht. “There’s skate rentals, skate sharpening. A few years ago we decided to utilize the space in the summer for roller skating nights. People are free to roller skate whenever the park is open, but on certain nights we bring in Twin Cities Skaters, who provides free roller skating rentals for anyone who comes, and a DJ, and food, so a lot of sun on the those summer nights.”

The next such event is Friday, August 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“From small kids sizes to bigger adult sizes, there will be a pair of skates for you,” said Hecht.

We saw a lot of skate “oops” this season at USBank Stadium. This is a reminder that whether skating indoors or outdoors, check your skates and wheels, particularly if they’re old. Plastic breaks down, we saw skates that fell in half and lots of wheels that simply shredded. There were numerous nights that we found pieces of skates and bolts strewn across the concourse. Be careful.

A trail is reopened.

Bike trails along Green Line LRT extension reopen with celebratory ride About 50 cyclists joined a ride to officially reopen the Cedar Lake LRT Regional Trail from Minneapolis to Hopkins.

Looks like there is quite a trail from St Cloud to Fergus Falls. The state wants to get a name for the combined trail as they build it up to Moorhead.
