Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well.
As we step into 2025, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and dedication throughout the years. Our Saturday classes have been a source of joy and inspiration for me, and your commitment has kept this journey alive.
Unfortunately, I’ve been facing some challenges since losing my job. Despite these difficulties, I remain dedicated to sharing and growing our collective knowledge and experiences.
This year, I’m excited to announce the addition of vivências de capoeira to our classes. Together, we will explore and analyze historical figures of capoeira, as well as the philosophical and social dimensions of this art form. I will also share insights from the research I conducted in Nigeria last year, connecting capoeira to its Afro-Brazilian roots and broadening our understanding of its history and cultural impact.
To help sustain these efforts and support not only myself but also the medical care my son Jahkobi needs, I kindly ask for your participation in the annual voluntary membership fee. This contribution will go a long way in ensuring we can continue this work together while navigating the challenges ahead.
