Training with through an injury, how do you approach it?
Personally I’ve found the best strategy is to figure out what the issue is, and work to correct it. Most of the times it’s a muscle weakness that needs to be strengthen. Monitor your pain levels and keep a record of what you are doing that’s working and what’s not. Adjust the plan as needed.
Cleo had a skin injury that required some cream that she can’t lick (hence the cone). Cleo isn’t letting that stop her from her other activities though.
Never give up and working to improve your abilities.

Although going to watch a baseball game you might not expect to use any of these skills, but when in a blink of an eye a ball is heading about 20 feet to your right, instinctively you put your fitness to the test.
Midway through the game between the Detroit Tigers and the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minnesota on a HOT August evening, a ball was heading into the Center field seats. I hopped up from my seat, using POWER as I needed to act fast! I recruited my SPEED, COORDINATION, and AGILTY to navigate bleacher seats and stairs to get to the railing. Unfortunately the ball was a good 5 feet beyond my reach. As I turned to see where the ball ended up, I heard a CLUNK! The ball ricocheted off the back way and was heading back towards me. BALANCING myself as I reached over the railing as the ball was falling to the ground below, I used my FLEXIBILITY to stretch and catch the ball in my barehand, in which the placement couldn’t have been any more ACCURATE.
I’ll be honest I was thrilled to look down and see the ball in my hand. I reached it up for all to see and the other fans were just as excited. I received plenty of high fives on my way back to my seat.
Yes, I work hard in the gym to look good and to compete in CrossFit, but beyond both of those I love to have the ability to do things like this effortlessly. Wherever my travels take me, or what activities I find myself in, I have 100% confidence in my abilities to excel at it, thanks to my well rounded fitness!

Everyone is going through something. It may be in their body, it may be in their mind. A picture doesn’t tell you what someone is working on or working through. Keep working on you!
Saturday at the track was first time I ‘raced’ against more than 1 person, doing the same workout, head to head, in many months.

Picked up some new 70lb Dumbbells for the home gym.
Investing in stocks etc might be great for your future and retirement, but make sure you invest in your health today to increase the likelihood of getting there with a high quality of life.
Things to invest in:
1. A great mattress
2. Proper nutrition
3. Gym membership and/or home gym equipment
4. Health care professionals like chiropractic, dentist, personal trainer, nutrition coach

22.1 was a great way to kick off the 2022 Open. Personally, it was my favourite .1 workout in years.
It’s great to see people of all ages and abilities getting after the workout, especially the ones doing it in a Better With Blacker Shirt!
