Thinking about the Downtown Dash 5K?

Grab a friend, coworker, or family member and do it together.

People who sign up with someone else are:

More likely to show up
More consistent leading up to race day
And have way more fun doing it

Walk, jog, or run—it doesn’t matter. It’s just better together.

We’re officially 1 month out from the Downtown Dash 5K on May 20th.

If it’s been on your list, now’s the time to lock it in.

Signing up now means:

You have time to build a simple routine
You’re more likely to stay consistent
You’ll show up feeling ready (not rushed)

Plus—registration deadlines are coming up soon, including the race t-shirt cutoff on May 6.

Think you don’t have time to train for a 5K?

You might be overthinking it.

Getting ready for the Downtown Dash 5K can be as simple as:

20–30 minutes
3–4 days per week
Walking, jogging, or a mix of both

That’s less time than most workouts—and more than enough to build confidence before race day.

No complicated plan. No long runs required.

Just consistent, simple movement.

Not planning to run or walk the Downtown Dash 5K this year?

You can still be part of the action.

We’re looking for volunteers to help create an awesome race day experience. It’s a fun, high-energy way to get involved and support the event.

Here are a few ways you can help:

Check-in: Welcome participants and help get them ready to go
T-shirt pickup: Hand out race shirts
Food & water stations: Keep participants fueled and hydrated
Course markers: Help guide runners and walkers along the route

Whether you sign up solo or bring a coworker or group, we’d love to have you join us.

We’re officially 6 weeks out from the Downtown Dash 5K—and if you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign to start.

Here’s the good news:
You don’t need to be “in shape” to do a 5K. You just need to begin.

Most people start with:

A walk + short jog intervals
20–30 minutes a few times a week
No pressure on pace

That’s it.

Six weeks is plenty of time to feel more confident, build momentum, and show up ready.

Spring is finally here—and there’s no better way to enjoy it than training for (and completing!) a 5K.

Whether you're getting back into a routine or looking for something new to work toward, the Downtown Dash 5K is the perfect way to make the most of the season.

Here are 3 reasons why spring + a 5K just makes sense:

1. Built-in motivation
Having a goal on the calendar makes it easier to stay consistent. A 5K gives you something to work toward—and keeps you moving even on busy days.

2. Better weather = better workouts
Longer days, fresh air, and sunshine make it easier (and more enjoyable) to get outside. No treadmill required.

3. It’s more fun with others
Invite coworkers, friends, or family to join you. Training together makes it more social, more motivating, and way more fun.

Whether you walk, jog, or run—this event is for everyone. www.downtowndash5k.org
