Of all the virtues that define the Hwarang Warrior, none is more sacred than Loyalty. It is the bond that unites disciple to teacher, brother to brother, generation to generation, and individual to a cause greater than oneself. It is the virtue upon which trust is built, sacrifice is justified, and legacies are preserved.

Loyalty is not measured in moments of convenience, prosperity, or personal gain. Rather, it is revealed through years of faithful service, through trials and adversity, through unwavering devotion when lesser men falter, and through the steadfast commitment to uphold one's oath regardless of circumstance. It is the willingness to place duty before self, principle before comfort, and the preservation of the lineage before personal ambition.

For a Master, loyalty transcends mere allegiance. It becomes a sacred obligation: a solemn covenant to protect, preserve, and transmit the wisdom, traditions, and spirit of Hwa Rang Do® to future generations. Such loyalty is not passive; it is expressed through action, sacrifice, leadership, and an enduring commitment to the welfare of the art and all who walk its path.

The recipient of this award has distinguished themselves as a true Hwarang Knight, demonstrating extraordinary devotion through countless acts of selfless service, steadfast commitment, and faithful stewardship of the Hwa Rang Do® legacy. Through their character and deeds, they have embodied the highest ideals of our tradition and have become a living example of the most exalted Hwarang virtue, Loyalty.

In recognition of exceptional devotion, selfless service, and unwavering fidelity to the preservation, advancement, and legacy of Hwa Rang Do®, we proudly bestow this Exceptional Award.

Hello all,

We'd like to congratulate all of our MUSA Challenge participants for doing such a wonderful job at tournament last Saturday! It's always great to see everyone step up to the moment! As always, there were some great battles, surprise outcomes, and quality life lessons learned. It's nice to see all the hard work pay off and the skills grow. Great job everyone - our entire team of instructors are really proud of how well the kids are doing!

We'd like to give a special thanks to all the parent volunteers who jumped in to help with concessions. We couldn't do it without you and we appreciate your willingness to assist where help was needed. An extra special thank you to Jules Lehto for once again leading the charge back there!

Finally, we have gone through all the results, created a winner's list, and determined this year's grand champions. As a reminder, to qualify for Grand Champion status, participants MUST compete in all division categories (Open Hand Form, Weapon Form, Sparring, Grappling, & Sword Fighting --- Tigers need to do Basics, Sparring, Grappling, & Sword Fighting). Then all the places are tallied between the events for all competitors who participated in all categories. 1st place finishers receive 10 points, 2nd place gets 5 points, 3rd place gets 2.5.

Our Grand Champions this year are:
Tiger Girl = Rubi Warner
Tiger Boy = Miles Deutschman
Junior Girl = Margot Beukema
Junior Boy = Leo Benoit
TSD Teen Girl = Olivia Solano Morales
TSD Teen Boy = Varek Bartsh Montero
HRD Teen Girl = Penelope Mendiola (Grand Champion since 2022!)

Congratulations to everyone! It was a fantastic tournament and we look forward to seeing how everyone improves over the next year before the next one!

Hwarang!
