The weather has cooled off, and it’s shaping up to be a busy weekend on the Mississippi!

Got your weekend planned yet? Now’s a great time to paddle past and see all the action at the rookery islands on the Mississippi River in NE Minneapolis. We’ve got openings for self guided rentals for the 8-mile See the City trip or 5-mile Heron trip this Friday 6/12 and Sunday 6/14!

We don’t have a Friday Fieldtrip today, but we hope you all make it outside this weekend! 😎
We do have openings for rentals on the Mississippi this Sunday.

Please note that we’ve also had a schedule change for next week and won’t be going to the Straight River on Friday, June 12th. But we hope to post a pop-up paddle for next week, so please stay tuned!

It’s opening night for the water ski show on the Mississippi in Minneapolis!

The Twin Cities River Rats are back on the water, and our 2026 season kicks off TONIGHT!

Join us as we journey to Never River, where you'll encounter pirates, fairies, lost rats, daring adventures, and of course, some of the best water ski acts you'll find anywhere. 🌙⭐

We had an almost perfect night and a great turnout for our National Mississippi River Day paddle last night. 28 paddlers came out to learn about and get out on the river!

Thanks to Tyler Winter of Native Fish for Tomorrow, who presented a short history of conservation on the Mississippi River in St. Paul and why it’s an important habitat for native fish including the freshwater drum.

We had such fun at the Kettle River and Banning State Park this weekend!

The water was low but perfect for a leisurely paddle. The weather was fantastic! And we had a great group!

With so many paddlers coming out for Friday field trips this year, getting on and off the water can take a little longer and get a bit chaotic 😎. We love to see how patient and helpful this group is. Old friends or new acquaintances… everyone helps each other out. This group really goes with the flow!

There’s no Friday field trip for us next week due to family plans, but we hope you all can get on the water! We do have a group trip on the Mississippi this Tuesday night 6/2.
