Cinco de Miles 5K

We've had several people reach out to us asking if there's a date for this year's race.

While we've loved every race spent with you all on the Riverwalk, we won't be bringing the Cinco de Miles 5K back. We thank you all for your support over the years and wish you many happy miles.

Even though we won't be seeing our favorite Michiana runners and walkers on the Riverwalk this weekend, keep training and logging those miles!

Muchos gracias to our friends at Monterrey Mexican Bar and Grill and to everyone who generously donated their registration fee to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County. Even though we weren't able to run together this year, we were happy to do some good for our community!

We hope that you all are staying well and continuing to log some summer miles! We've kept a close eye on the ever-changing status of COVID-19, and feel that what's best for our runners, walkers, volunteers and local sponsors, would be to cancel this year's race. If you've joined us on the Riverwalk before then you know our race is unlike any other 5K in town, and we want to make sure we continue to provide the best race day experience possible.

With that said, 2020 participants have two options; request a refund for the registration fee, or have CDM5K donate it to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County on your behalf. Just send us an email at [email protected] or comment below with which option you prefer and we'll make it happen.

Even though we won't be seeing you all on Saturday for the 5th annual , that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy race week together. It's which means you should have Hacienda Mexican Restaurants on speed dial for dinner. Treat yourself to pre-race pizza Friday night from Mimmo's Pizza and grab a post-race bagel Saturday morning from Einstein Bros. Bagels. Don't forget, Monterrey Mexican Bar & Grill has to-go margaritas to keep you hydrated!

Already dreaming of Taco Tuesday? Monterrey Mexican Bar & Grill has you covered! They're open for carryout from 11 am - 7 pm. You can grab 10 tacos with chips and salsa for only $20! Did we mention they also have margaritas to go? Dinner done!

The race might be postponed, but that doesn't mean you can't still support the Humane Society of St. Joseph County! They are currently running low on peanut butter, hot dogs and lavender-scented Fabuloso. You can drop off donations in the bin outside the shelter for contact free donation drop. We are doing a lot of additional enrichment and are almost out of peanut butter and hot dogs! If you are able to donate any peanut butter or hot dogs, our dogs would appreciate it! You can drop off in our donation bin outside the shelter for contact free donation drop. You can also mail peanut butter to us at 2506 Grape Rd. Mishawaka, IN 46545.

We've put off making this announcement for as long as possible hoping that maybe we wouldn't have to, but for the safety of our participants, volunteers and our community, we will be postponing the 2020 .

1. We are working on selecting a new date. As soon as we have one we will let you know, but there really is no wrong time of year to throw a fiesta!

2. If you can't join us on the new date, we will offer you a full refund. We hope to still see you on the Riverwalk though!
