Mission, KS Parks + Recreation The official page of the Mission, KS Parks + Recreation Department. Mission, KS Parks & Recreation offices are located at Sylvester Powell, Jr.

Mission is a walkable city with an eclectic mix of convenient recreation facilities, 8 neighborhood parks, bike paths and trails. Community Center in Northeast Johnson County. The Department holds sports programs and community events at various park locations, and in addition to the Mission Family Aquatic Center, the Powell Community Center boasts fitness classes for all ages, personal trainers, strength & cardio equipment, 2 racquetball courts, 2 gyms, and community use space.

Kick back, sip on refreshing drinks from our b**r garden with RockCreek Brewing, and groove to the sounds of live music. Two food trucks will be on site for your dining pleasure: Taco Vida Kansas City and Bao WowZ.

PLEASE NOTE: coolers are prohibited.

Mission is turning 75, and a celebration this big calls for bringing your favorite people along. 💚

On Saturday, September 26, we’re gathering in the heart of downtown for an evening of live music, dancing, food, family-friendly fun and plenty of opportunities to celebrate Mission through the decades.

Come dressed for our Mission Through the Decades Costume Contest, or simply come as you are and help us make a few new Mission memories together.
