Dear Snowmobilers,
We hope youâve enjoyed a great snowmobiling season so far. As our year wraps up, we are once again sending our ISMA End-Of Year Snowmobiler Survey â and we need your help.
This information is very important to the Snowmobile Community so that we have accurate data to best represent the positive impact of snowmobiling.
Please share the link below with your clubs and members and encourage them to participate in the ISMA End-Of Year Snowmobiler Survey. The insights gathered each year play a key role in helping us:
â˘Provide up-to-date statistics to government agencies, municipalities, and snowmobile associations.
â˘Highlight the economic impact of snowmobiling.
â˘Strengthen planning and advocacy efforts that support the future of our sport.
Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Snowmobile26
The more riders who participate, the stronger and more representative our data becomes. Your support in sharing this survey truly makes a difference.
Thank you for your help.

Groomer Update đ˘
This season has been a tough one. The weather and temperatures have been all over the place, and lately itâs been consistently warm.
When daytime temps are hitting the 40s, 50s, 60s, there just arenât enough overnight hours for the snow to cool down and set up properly.
On top of that, Lolo Pass and the surrounding trail system naturally have a lot of water and spring flow, even in a normal year. With these temps, conditions have deteriorated quickly.
With only 9 days left in the 2025â2026 grooming season, weâve made the call to officially wrap things up early.
Weâll begin pulling trail signs and safety packs by April 1st (the scheduled end of the season).
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped this year.
Volunteers made a massive difference keeping trails rideable.
1,728 trees cleared from groomed trails this season and still more reported down.
We also werenât able to open some lower elevation trails due to lack of snow. We will clear these trees when we can get in there during the offseason.
Appreciate all of you!

Grooming Update: 3-15-26âď¸
Moose Loop is now reopened! The crew cleared 33 trees from Moose Loop after the latest storm.
The groomer is currently working its way from the Visitor Center up to Granite Pass.
So far, a total of 156 downed trees have been removed from the Ski, Moose, and Warming Hut trails just this weekend and we still have more areas to open up!
Thanks for your patience after this big storm, and donât forget to buy your parking pass when you park at the top of the pass!âď¸ Be safe!

3-14-26 update!
The groomer will be back out today! With lots of trees down and deep, deep snow, itâs been slow going. Remember to pack a saw if youâre going out!
We only have a couple of days to get the trails reopened before temperatures hit 50°F at the pass, so grooming will take place during the daytime this weekend.
Please keep an eye out for the groomer on the trails over the next two days and give plenty of space as crews work to clear trees and reopen trails. They will start on the Granite side of the pass today!
Thank you for your patience and support! Thank you Cory and Skip for the late nights and early mornings this weekend!âď¸âď¸ Be safe, check the avalanche conditions, and have fun!

Drive and ride safe out there âď¸
Update: the groomer is out on the ski trails this afternoon, 3/13. Thanks Missoula Snowgoers Snowmobile Associationďżź!
Happy Friday the 13th! Total accumulation from this weather system is currently 37 inches, with an additional 10-18 inches forecast today through Saturday đ¤Š
The groomer has not yet been out.
Driving conditions are a bit spicy, so please slow down and stay safe. Montana and Idaho are both requiring chains on all towing vehicles, so this means we need to keep the State Lot open for semis and other large trucks. If youâre coming up to recreate today, please take care to park close together in the ski and snowmobile lots.
Thanks for doing your part to keep Lolo Pass safe and fun for all. Come on up and enjoy this winter wonderland!!
