We’re excited to announce something brand new for Lawrence County! ❤️💙

🥎 The first ever Lawrence County Lady Rockets 8U Softball Team!

The goal is bigger than just playing tournaments. I want to build a group of girls who love the game, learn to be coachable athletes, and really develop their fundamentals. Long-term, I’d love to keep a core group of girls together, develop them into confident utility players, and give them the opportunity to grow together all the way through high school.

We’ll kick things off with a more informal fall season. This will give us a chance to get the girls together, get comfortable with each other, establish some fundamentals, and have some fun playing softball without jumping straight into a full tournament schedule.

We’re looking at a few tournaments in October, including a tournament in Mitchell on October 10–11, and then we’ll take November and December off.

Starting in January, we’ll begin working toward our full spring season with regular batting work, some indoor practices during the winter months, and a tournament schedule throughout the spring. We’ll keep the schedule reasonable — the goal is to develop these girls without burning them out.

Who is eligible?

Girls in the 8U age division who have not turned 9 before September 1.

These are open practices for any girls who may be interested. No pressure, no commitment — just come out, meet us, and play some ball!
