Is your grip strength holding you back?

Grip strength is crucial to any lift you do and has real life application to normal everyday tasks.

2 exercises we regularly do are farmers walks and dead hangs.

Today we trained them as primary exercises because they can be.

Boston is doing carry’s with 97 # in each hand and Harrison is doing dead hangs with an extra 15 pounds on him.

That’s a wrap to summer offseason training for Ben Seitzinger

Lots of goals were hit this summer.

225 clean ✅
225 bench press ✅
375 box squat ✅

Summer doesn’t mean take a break. At the college level no job is safe. You can transfer and recruit easier than ever before. Ben took the time to bring back a stronger, faster and more physically prepared athlete for his Junior year at Indiana Wesleyan ⚾️

Athletes if you want your vertical to go up, don’t neglect your lower body.

Gavin’s closing in on a 350 ATG squat, split squats over 2 plates and has tree trunks for quads. No question as to how he can produce a 30” CMJ.

This year alone he has logged over 50 sessions at CCB on top of being apart of a strength class at school.

Not a pr but it sure is a whole lot better of a clean than it was a few weeks ago.

1st video was 225 Pr about 3 weeks ago.
2nd video is 225 again today but with much better technique.

No more starfish catching and way more speed under the bar. Just in time to go back to college.

Cement City Barbell is officially 1 year old today!

Thank you to everyone who has given CCB the opportunity to work with you and your child. I absolutely love getting to not only train them but also develop relationships and get to know everyone who comes through our doors.

Here are some of the OG’s throwing it back to the beginning when we didn’t have electric hooked up in the barn yet because of a backyard renovation. Ben Seitzinger would have to wait for the sun to rise for light before he could start training. No electric also meant no fans and if you’ve been here before you know how hot it gets in the summer and cold in the winter.

1 year later we’ve got power thanks to Nick Doub we’ve trained 60+ athletes, added 2 fully equipped squat racks, bench press rack, specialty bars, dumbbells and many other accessories.

Looking forward to year 2 and continuing to add value to you and your kids athletic development!

Thank you!
