Movement Monday π
One of the things we value in training is giving our dancers opportunities to learn outside of what's familiar.
Conventions, classes and audition opportunities at competitions put dancers in rooms with different teachers and choreographers, different styles and different ways of moving. They have to pick up choreography from someone new, adapt to a different teaching style, try things they may not normally do and simply be willing to learn.
But there's another part of these experiences too.
When you're one dancer in a room full of dancers, you learn that growth isn't about trying to look exactly like everyone around you. It's about learning the movement, taking in the corrections and training being offered, while still discovering what makes you stand out as an individual dancer.
Over the years, some of our dancers have earned scholarships through these experiences, creating even more opportunities to train, learn and step into new rooms.
Because the goal isn't to only become comfortable in one room.
It's to keep learning, keep experiencing, keep discovering who you are as a dancer and keep growing. π
