What makes us happy? Getting to visit beautiful sustainable gardens!

Our Restoration team recently had the chance to visit this sustainable garden space at Stan State and see what’s growing and thriving.

We’re especially excited about the possibility of partnering with Stan State to expand these spaces with even more native plants through our Wildlife Conservation Board grant.
We can’t wait to see what could grow from this partnership!

A couple weeks ago, our team had the opportunity to visit the USDA NRCS California Plant Materials Center in Lockeford for their Fall Field Day!

We spent the morning out in the field learning more about cover crops, warm-season forages, and the work being done at the Plant Materials Center to support conservation across California.

We’re always grateful for opportunities like this to get our team out in the field and to bring new ideas and knowledge back to the communities we serve.

🌱 Join us for a Volunteer Day at Turlock Community Gardens!

On October 10, we’re rolling up our sleeves to help prepare the garden’s conservation area for more native plants! These plants will provide important habitat for native pollinators, support local biodiversity, and help create a healthier ecosystem.

We’ll also be helping with maintenance and other projects throughout the garden to keep this community space growing!

Happy first day of autumn from the Central Valley!

Fall looks a little different around here. We aren't pulling out our flannels just yet, and we're still enjoying our pumpkin spice lattes on ice, but the season is very much here if you know where to look. Persimmons and pomegranates are ripening, walnut and almond harvest is wrapping up, and oak leaves are just starting to turn gold. Sandhill cranes are arriving after flying in from as far as Siberia, and our salmon are fighting their way up the Stanislaus River to spawn.

At the East Stanislaus RCD, every new season is a reminder of why we do this work, protecting the land, water, and wildlife that make this valley home.
