Nodding along like "...Yeah. ...Totally. ...Control the hips..." while your brain is doing this 🥋🤯🤨

BJJ has approximately 4,729 moves (give or take), and half of them sound like they were completely made up. "Inverted De La Riva Guard?" "Berimbolo?" "Reverse Triangle from Kiss of the Dragon?" Excuse me, this is a martial arts gym, not a fantasy novel.

Every confused white belt turns into a confused blue belt turns into a slightly less confused purple belt. The confusion IS the journey. And it's the best journey you'll ever get tangled up in. The pieces start clicking together when you least expect it, and suddenly you're the one explaining "the important thing is to control the hip angle" like you actually know what that means.

Progress over perfection. You don't have to understand it all to start. You just have to start.

Show up. Get confused. Get better. Repeat 🦁❤
