Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles Come Up Short Against Broadway gobblers

Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles could not keep up with Broadway gobblers 7-3 on Tuesday.
Broadway gobblers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Lilah Deavers singled, scoring one run, Maddie Wolfe scored after tagging up, Alexia Lambert singled, scoring two runs, and Hannah Tinnell singled, scoring one run.
Emma Alcorn led things off in the circle for Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out three and walking three. Deavers began the game for Broadway gobblers. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking none.

Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles Fall To Abingdon Varsity Falcons After Surrendering Big Second Inning

Abingdon Varsity Falcons scored seven runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles 12-5 on Thursday.
Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Payton Chewning singled, scoring one run.
Abingdon Varsity Falcons flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Scout Summitt that drove in two.
An error, and a ground out by Lauren Baker helped Abingdon Varsity Falcons extend their early lead in the third.
Abingdon Varsity Falcons scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Mariah Branscomb.

Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles Defeats Christiansburg High School On Back Of Clutch Display From Payton Chewning

Payton Chewning drove in five runs on two hits to lead Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles past Christiansburg High School 10-0 on Monday. Chewning hit a grand slam to left field in the second inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring one.
Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the first after Allison McAndrew drew a walk, scoring one run.
Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles scored four runs in the bottom of the second on a grand slam to left field by Chewning.
Kailynne Keister hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth for the Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles.

Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles snatched the lead late in their 4-3 victory over Lord Botetourt Varsity Cavaliers on Thursday. Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles were down 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Abby Hogan singled, scoring two runs.
Lord Botetourt Varsity Cavaliers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Lord Botetourt Varsity Cavaliers first got on the board when Callie Kidd singled, scoring one run.
Lord Botetourt Varsity Cavaliers added one run in the third after Phoenix Humphries flew out.
Emma Alcorn earned the win for Staunton River Varsity Golden Eagles. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three.
