It wouldn't be a national event without a few highs and lows.
HIGH: Owen made all 3 cars into the A Mains!
LOW: In World Formula, they realized his earbuds weren't working on the initial start. He had to come off to try to change them, didn't make it back out in time, and never even got a lap in that car.
HIGH: He went from 5th to 2nd in Animal, ran there for most of the race, and definitely had something for the 1st place car.
LOW: Under caution, his car got banged up and took some damage. The keyway that holds the gear on the motor broke and he just didn't have the power anymore. He finished 6th.
HIGH: He started 9th in the Light 160 A Main and worked his way through the field, making a pass for 2nd.
LOW: The car got him back, and then it was a three wide dash to the checkered. Owen finished 4th.
BIGGEST HIGH: Owen was BAD fast today. He had great cars and drove his butt off.
We love these events. We love coming to see where we stack up. We love being the underdog. We love seeing our people and the adrenaline of it all.
And we have so many people to thank.
First, the Coates for letting us borrow their Animal motor. That thing was BAD fast.
The Shoemakers for realizing we didn't have our family there like we normally do to help and stepping in BIG time for us.
Theobalds for helping us get everything ready before the mains.
And everyone who helped Owen and Tyler every step of this trip, we appreciate you all!
There were definitely a few moments today that didn't go our way, but man, Owen showed up. Three cars. Three A Mains. And a whole lot of speed. We'll take it 💪
