Welcome to MGSA 2025! Our year starts off with planning, then with our Maintenance Days. We worked on our whole fleet- two Twins, two single place, and a Piper Pawnee tow plane. Here are some photos of that work spread over 2 weekends Well over half our club showed up to work on our planes!

The Mid Georgia Soaring Association holds an XC (Cross Country) camp after Memorial Day preceding a Region SSA Contest. Cordele present friendly skies, friendly, terrain, and friendly locals and visitors that enjoy having us down yearly. It is a fun event giving opportunity's for record flights and SSA and FAI Badges. I achieved my Diamond Goal and Diamond distance here many years ago in an Schempp-Hirth Open Cirrus. (Joe Flores, ed) Enjoy the photo's provided by yours truly and Tim Walter.

MGSA 2022 Work Days 01/28/2022

Yearly work day has turned into around a week of various days of work. Our own Hartley Falbaum spear heading the efforts this year.

Ongoing work as we disassemble the planes, clean, l**e, inspect, and get them ready for their annual inspections. The inspections may be done tomorrow, 1/29, if it's not too cold. Tomorrow is spoiling to be the coldest day in these parts in some 4 years. Really.

Video of the wind event. It was howling a good 30mph but the gusts were frightening. I would say at least 50 and probably more when the rotor hit the ground.
