With sorrow we share that Black Magic crossed the Rainbow Bridge last night. Magic had wonderful years here, was always quite a character, and had many fans.

It has been a while, but fun to get back to a Poplar Place schooling show. Rachel Peevy and Black Magic had a solid dressage test (31.7) which had them leading the Starter division. A slight soreness was detected in Magic's left rear leg during SJ warmup so they withdrew before SJ. Always make the decision for the horse's best interest.

Skylight (aka Second Night) crossed the rainbow bridge last month. She was the best nanny mare to weaning foals and she loved that job.

Congratulations to Rachel Peevy and Heather Allen for having great day at Ashland Farm on Saturday. Rachel and
Magic finished BN 3ph on their dressage score (third competition in a row) placing 3rd (.9 behind first). Heather bravely took Capri for first show in two years and Ditto for first show ever! Great start and restart. Clean jumping. Well done.

Rachel and Magic won the Starter 3ph division on their dressage score of 34.0!

Brandywine welcomed Rachel Peevy's foal Galahad born last night (Skills Like This/Gotham). She is a very dark filly, not sure if she will be black, dark Bay, or gray. Special thanks to Megan Orr, you made it possible and could not have done last night without your help.

The water system (deep well) at Brandywine has been limping along for a while. Pressure would be ok, then go down to nothing, then come back after a minute or two. Dear, sweet John Heidelberg , signed on again (previous two times for new water heater for barn and house) to do more plumbing. Old plumbing always gives problems. Now have new pressure switch, water filter system, and one new toilet (and lots of reworked piping,etc). A million thank yous are not enough, John. I am forever grateful for you being my white knight!

Horse Heaven has gained a very classy mare. Gracie, age 29 loved and owned by Lauren Patterson Tundidor, crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. We were honored to be the first boarding home when Lauren got Gracie and the retirement home for the past 5 years. Gracie was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
